Boasting the wonderful tones of Autumn and captured in the warmth of the late Summer sun, this afternoon’s relaxed bohemian couple shoot, featuring the gorgeous Ali and Dionne, took place at one of our recommended wedding venues, the stunning Wilderness Weddings in Kent. Perfect for an outdoor wedding, it comes with two licensed ceremony areas, a picturesque lake, a tipi in the woods, glamping accommodation and stunning countryside views that stretch for miles. It is an incredible space – especially if you are looking for a venue that is immersed in nature.
With a theme that is natural, bohemian, relaxed and romantic, A Boho Twist was put together by Beverley Pocock Photography and Photography by Petrina. After meeting Ali and Dionne at a photography workshop, they wanted to create a simple couple shoot that celebrated Dionne’s natural beauty and explored the many photo opportunities that Wilderness Weddings has to offer. Couple this with a warming, earthy colour palette of rust, yellow, gold, red and plum within the flowers, and you have a beautiful Autumnal wedding shoot.
Beverley and Trina share with us more details on the day and the suppliers who helped make it happen.
Have a wonderful weekend lovely peeps and we will see you on the flip side!
A Boho Twist…
Words by Bev & Petrina
Hello! We are two professional photographers based in Kent, who just happen to be good friends as well. We recently attended a wedding workshop where we met a fabulous model couple called Ali and Dionne. They are honestly one of the loveliest couples we have ever met and such a pleasure to photograph.
Having worked with them, we really wanted to organise our own styled shoot to show off Dionne’s natural beauty and the fun and love for each other they both have. We decided to meet up with Ali & Dionne in September to do a couple shoot and, as you can see from these images, you can understand why!
We were keen to showcase somewhere in our local area and we had a boho festival vibe in mind. Preston Court is well known near us but on searching Instagram we spotted the newer ‘Wilderness Weddings’ venue. We were on cloud nine…. it was perfect!
After confirming availability with the venue it was then down to us to make sure our vision and styling would do it justice. This was our first styled shoot, but we had no problem in finding some super wedding suppliers to help us bring our vision to reality.
The Crystal Fairy Company in Birchington loaned us the most beautiful boho styled wedding dress and full length lace detailed veil by bridal gown designer, Mark Lesley.
The bouquet and the headdress were inspired by the warm golden tones of autumnal sunsets. Lady Penelope’s Florist mixed russet dahlias and japanese lilac with meadow Amaranthus and the sweetest butter coloured garden roses. While the little dotted straw flowers grab your attention with their unfurling petals, eucalyptus and magnolia leaves add a sense of tranquility and calmness to the design. Last but not least, a beautiful seasonal touch was brought by the celosias with their velvet like waves of deep orange.
The colours in the floral headdress and bouquet complimented the natural, earthy tones of Dionne’s make up.
The ladies behind these businesses are just incredible and we cannot thank them enough for their contribution.
On the day of the shoot, our inspiration and mood board suddenly became a reality. The stunning landscape, boho back to nature feel, wicker chairs, dream catchers, giant tree swing, shepherds huts and more….wow, what a venue! We were so excited to get the chance to shoot here with such a gorgeous couple and on the day it all came together into a beautiful twilight autumn wilderness wedding which we are so happy to share with you at Festival Brides.
We can’t wait for our next styled shoot in early 2021!
