We have an absolute thing of beauty to share with you all today. A gorgeous woodland wedding inspiration shoot, captured in Harden Grange Folly in Yorkshire by Joanne Lawrence Photography and Gemma Suckley Photography.
It is no secret that the pandemic has had a huge impact on the wedding industry and the livelihoods and wellbeing of the couples planning their weddings, and the suppliers who have seen a devastating, and in some cases a terminal, loss of business. As Joanne and Gemma explain in the feature below, it has been such an unprecedented year for so many.
Driven by a passion to adapt to this new kind of normal, Joanne and Gemma wanted to create a shoot that inspired couples to embrace the pandemic restrictions and push forward with a small intimate wedding. The team behind the shoot says…
The woodland shoot was set up to show couples that the ongoing pressures of the pandemic shouldn’t stop them celebrating their love. After all, love is all that truly matters when it comes to that special day; it’s what our industry is fueled by and what got us here in the first place.
Full of woodland romance, the shoot features a stunning beaded whimsical blush gown from Mary’s Bridal, a colour palette of earthy tones and organic greens and understated elegant styling that works beautifully with the natural woodland as it’s backdrop. It is a dream to look at and we have been so looking forward to sharing it with you all today.
Joanne and Gemma share with us their ideas for the shoot and the suppliers who helped make it happen.
Woodland Romance…
As the world as we know it continues to change before our very eyes, the way we go about planning and celebrating is also changing. The impact this has had on the wedding industry is unprecedented; we’ve all had to look at ways we can accommodate and adapt to this new normal.
The woodland shoot was set up to show couples that the ongoing pressures of the pandemic shouldn’t stop them celebrating their love. After all, love is all that truly matters when it comes to that special day; it’s what our industry is fueled by and what got us here in the first place.
We wanted to strip back the whole concept of weddings and demonstrate that, with nothing more than a little creativity and passion, wedding days are just as magical when celebrated intimately. Why not elope and celebrate the unity of two people with only those most special to you by your side? Get lost in the moment and let your love guide the way!
Harden Grange Folly was the perfect setting to express this. Idyllically located in the Yorkshire countryside, it offers tranquility and a beautiful down to earth backdrop.
The organic greens and earthy tones perfectly compliment most bridal styles. The blush and beading on the Mary’s Bridal gown worked well in this shoot and really gave it that whimsical feel. Combine this, with the delicate ruins of the Harden Grange Folly, we feel it made the whole shoot feel special.
The Mary’s Bridal dress was almost made for Nazia Kausar. She has the most delightful skin, which the dress really enhanced. With layers of tulle, delicately entwined with intricate beading, the dress looked stunning. And, thanks to Your Glam Duo, so did Nazia.
Keeping the whole setting stripped back, we wanted to keep the styling understated to really enhance the natural surroundings of Harden Grange Folly. Faye at Aphelion Events used a mix of complementary greens and contrasting brass to create a woodland wedding setting that brought in elements of nature.
From the pampas bouquet to the draping ivy, the blush tones to the deep greens, the result of this woodland shoot were nothing short of perfect.
