Based on the colours of a Coachella sunset, today’s glitter infused festival inspired wedding shoot is full of colour, iridescent sparkle, balloon and flower installations (the wedding balloon is back people with a vengeance) and a whole wealth of decor and food ideas to bring the festival party to your wedding!
Put together by Want That Invite, The Sweetest Thing Cakery and Carrie Ann Tiley Bespoke Events, the aim of the shoot was to move away from the more traditional and rustic styling that we see so much of in tipis and instead bring a style that is vibrant, fun, colourful and full of sass!
Look out for the amazing balloon and flower installations in both the tipi and the ceremony area and the bridesmaid’s sequined capes (I want one!)
A Coachella Sunset…
Words by Want That Invite, The Sweetest Thing Cakery and Carrie Ann Tiley Bespoke Events
We knew that creating a tipi festival wedding shoot with a difference had to be fun, free and a little bit funky with a large injection of colour. The tipi venue traditionally would sway couples towards a rustic style wedding, so we wanted to work with the venue to bring something different to the table. The chosen colour scheme was based on the colours of a coachella sunset we saw on Pinterest which included orange, pinks, warm yellow, blues and purples. Of course no festival is complete without some iridescent and sparkle!
On first site visit to the venue there were three things that became apparent; we wanted the outdoor tree to be the main focal of the ceremony, we needed a statement sweetheart table in the tipi and our talented photographer paid careful attention to where outdoor shots would make the most of the sunset sky.
A Whole Lot Of Sass…
The wedding breakfast – this is where we wanted to go against the traditional. We wanted to do something not usually seen in tipis before; think balloon garlands, disco balls, iridescent tassels and a whole lot of sass! We wanted this to be an actual representation of a wedding to not only inspire, but show couples what is possible. Food was served on stylish platters to finish off the tables.
A Balloon Garland with Textured Florals…
The Ceremony – by using the tree as our natural backdrop, we wanted to add a ‘festival feel’ whilst keeping things modern and contemporary. Together with the florist and balloon company, we came up with the idea of a wrap around balloon garland finished with a textured floral installation. To add to the contemporary style we finished this with Perspex ghost chairs and kept the aisle simple to draw your eye in.
The Party…
We created a party atmosphere with a disco wall, neon and glitter artists, and details such as the VW car made the whole vibe a step away from tradition. If it was this much fun to shoot, we can’t imagine how much fun it would be to have your wedding in this style!
