Gothic Romantic Wedding Ideas For Halloween

We have the first of our Halloween inspired wedding inspiration shoots to share with you all! This little beauty has been put together by Elisabeth Pérez & Laura Pérez and has been captured by Estudio Creativo at the El Palacio de los Marqueses de Viana – an abandoned palace built in 1548 and is one of the main exponents of Renaissance architecture in the province of Jaén, southern Spain. This is a Halloween style inspirational wedding editorial but not a typical one. Our idea from the beginning has been to move away from traditional bridal styles, creating a different and timeless idea of wedding. We want to make a Halloween style without the typical topics that this represents so we decided to do a Romantic Gothic style. It should convey a sophisticated, intimate and elegant idea, but at the same time it should be daring and should go beyond the norm, breaking stereotypes or fashions.

We love how the black, burgundy, dark green and gold colour palette of both the décor and bridal and groom attire, contrasts with the pale, weathered and aging palace walls. It all works so beautifully together and the contrast created certainly adds to the romantic gothic ambience Elisabeth and Laura were hoping to create. We are also in awe of the stunning bridal gowns by Lucía Cano which exude elegant romance and couldn’t be more perfectly placed in this shoot.

Romantic Gothic Style…

This is a Halloween style inspirational wedding editorial but not the typical one. Our idea from the beginning has been to move away from traditional bridal styles, creating a different and timeless idea of wedding. We want to make a Halloween style without the typical topics that this represents so we decided to do a Romantic Gothic style. It should convey a sophisticated, intimate and elegant idea, but at the same time it should be daring and should go beyond the norm, breaking stereotypes or fashions.

The colour palette that we used was black, burgundy, dark green and some touches of gold. Playing with this range of colour we also included another decorative element: the fruit. We can’t forget this is also a seasonal wedding so fruit gave it an Autumnal touch.

One of the most fundamental things in this project was to find a location that would perfectly reflect the style we were looking for. One that would be a unique space with a great history. Then we found the perfect place: “El Palacio de los Marqueses de Viana.” This is an abandoned palace built in 1548, one of the main exponents of Renaissance architecture in the province of Jaén, souther Spain. This place is characterized by beautiful arcaded galleries, through which the golden light of an Autumn day gave to us a perfect ambience. Its high ceilings, worn-out walls and the stone staircase with a double semicircular archway that connects to the upper floor evoke the purest classical and timeless beauty. In this palace, drawn by the hand of time, the light that filters through the galleries and the old windows inspired us to create the overall design, using different spaces to tell a wedding story.

Floral decoration was made by “El Jardín de Chloé.” They created floral arrangements using red and burgundy flowers, dry branches and different tones of green hanging plants, to give to the space a gothic, dark and romantic atmosphere. Next to the stairs, they used dry material spread on the floor to add a touch of decadence, also some materials in black or gold colour to bring elegance.

Wedding dresses are the identity hallmark of the fashion designer “Lucía Cano.” Each dress reflects perfectly the philosophy of the brand. The innovation in each design and the handmade embroidery are the main characteristics of our special design. Dresses that highlight the style of a contemporary woman who wants to be different and a little risky to feel unique.

Our main protagonist is tulle handmade embroidery. All embroidery drawings are exclusively designed for each dress on each pattern, looking to create a discreet and elegant transparency effect.

The hairdressing work was carried out by “Manu Marfil Estilista.” In the case of Claudia, model of the main couple, Manu Marfil looked for a sophisticated and glamorous look that gives her a feeling of power. A medium-low height upsweep was made with a lot of volume, giving the hair a modern touch by texturing it and taking advantage of its colour with hair root effect. The red floral headdress by “India Studio” is placed at the front of the head to give it prominence but without detracting from the hairstyle.

Manu Marfil made to Noelia a low upsweep in which fillings were used to find volume because of her short hair. A tiara-shaped floral headdress also by “India Studio,” placed on the front, following the same inspiration and style used with Claudia.

In the case of Carmen, he opted for a polished and combed back hair to give importance to the tiara she wore as a headdress, made by “Grace Bridal Industries” matching the earrings.

Finally, Tomás had his hair straight with root volume, leaving the rest of the hair to have its own movement. His hair was treated only with serum, without being too polished to look more natural and masculine. The models David and Mario simply hair done a bit by looking for their most natural tendency.

For the makeup Virginia used the colour palette and followed the romantic gothic style with a porcelain skin and dark styles without losing that fine and elegant bride touch.
