Sustainable Wedding Ideas with Dried Flowers

Beautiful textural decor installations, a rainbow colour theme, dried and bleached flowers, a bridal crown, beautiful bohemian hair, a stunning cake, bright eclectic decor – these are just a few of the things we love about today’s wonderful wedding inspiration shoot captured by Nikki’s Moments Photo & Film and styled by Fleur De Lace. It’s aim was to provide couples with ideas for a relaxed bohemian style wedding using sustainable methods and eco-friendly suppliers…

Our inspiration for this shoot was to showcase a relaxed boho sustainable shoot with complimentary dried florals. Selecting suppliers who upcycled furniture, handmade their own styling and used sustainable floristry. We focused on bringing together a gold trim theme but with a pop of colour within both the table set up but also on the brides rainbow pastel dress by Willoby by Watters.

This is the third shoot we have featured in the past 7 days which has had a focus on sustainability and it is so refreshing to see. This shoot, along with the others, is a perfect example of how you can still achieve the perfect wedding whilst being as kind to the environment as possible. Dried flowers are a great example of this – so versatile and, if looked after properly, can be reused and enjoyed for many years to come.

A Relaxed Wedding Vibe…

Our inspiration for the shoot was to create a relaxed wedding vibe incorporating statement florals using only dried flower material but adding a touch of colour here and there. Kirsty from the Flower Mill used various dried seed heads, bleached flowers and plenty of pampas to create a beautiful textured design including a large structure floral cloud which we were able to use for both a table reception design and for couple photos. Alice from Fleur de Lace used rainbow colours to accompany the dried and natural essence of the flowers. We channeled a pink trim and gold rim theme, throughout the table design and Soil and Soul Styling provided the stationery to match.

Nina from Meadowsweet Cakes choose to take inspiration from the colours on the tulle dress and add the same pattern onto her cake design. We had the opportunity to hang the cake from the ceiling on a lifted table provided by Sisson Barns. We decided to keep a simple cake set up but go big with the florals providing an overall statement look!

Sisson Barns, a new barn in the heart of the countryside, had lots of blank canvas spaces to create inspiration. We decided to create a relaxed lounge area with bohemain style furniture provided by Little Lending Company which set the scene for some great couple photos.

For the bride and groom, we wanted to make a statement and chose a rainbow pastel dress by Willoby by Watters provided by Halo and Wren Bridal. We used hair accessories to compliment the look provided by Lilley Studio and Emma, from Emma Kim Hairdressing, incorporated braids into a half up half down look. Our bride had a semi matte texture look for her make up. A warm rose tone swept across the eye and multiple individual lashes to define the eye. This helped the models natural beauty shine through. For the groom we stuck to our theme and provided a navy chequered suit which complimented the multi-colours in the brides dress.
