Boho Destination Wedding Ideas with Bell Tents

We are feeling the summer wedding vibes on the blog today with a gorgeous bohemian glamping inspired shoot put together by Becca of The Canvas Tribe, a supplier of festival inspired glamping villages in Portugal and the UK, and someone we are very proud to call a member of our wedding supplier directory. Along with destination wedding planners My Algarve Wedding, Becca wanted to create small intimate ‘micro-wedding’ ideas for couples who are considering a wedding abroad but are looking for something more unique and personal than the ‘standard set package’ that is often associated with destination weddings. I found that the bulk of weddings here are very standard, ‘set package’ weddings. This tends to be the easiest options for people planning a destination wedding. I wanted to show couples that they can create the ultimate wedding their own way, even from abroad.

Mixing the sandy coloured canvas of their bell tents with an earthy colour palette of terracotta, cream, brown and orange, the team created a gorgeous bohemian outdoor wedding setting complete with pampas, a low picnic style reception table scape, glamping accommodation, smoke bombs and gorgeous happy smiles from real life couple Andreia Rodrigues and Diogo Gregorio.

In the wake of weddings now being allowed for up to 15 people in UK, the timing of this shoot couldn’t be more perfect. It is a gorgeous example of the beauty of a small wedding and has most certainly got us excited of what gorgeous outdoor summer weddings 2021 is going to bring.

Small, Bohemian & Beautiful…

My main inspiration for the shoot was to encourage couples to create their weddings their way. As you know, we’re currently living in Portugal, our main source of weddings is in the UK, but we started looking into the possibility of festival and glamping weddings here, as Covid stretched on into the unknown!

I found that the bulk of weddings here are very standard, ‘set package’ weddings. This tends to be the easiest options for people planning a destination wedding. I wanted to show couples that they can create the ultimate wedding their own way, even from abroad.

I also wanted to show couples how beautiful small outdoor weddings can be, making the most of the blue Algarve skies! Small or micro weddings can be amazing, you don’t need to miss out on anything!

I adore boho themes which compliment our sandstone tents perfectly, so along with My Algarve Wedding, we picked a handful of small boho suppliers in the Algarve to showcase in this shoot.
