Colourful Pastel & Neon Disco Wedding Ideas

Brides and Grooms, do we have an absolute TREAT for your eyes today with this epic styled wedding shoot! From the incredible suppliers involved to the fabulous inspiration it provides, if ever there was a shoot to bring in the weekend, it is this one!

Think disco balls, stunning dyed florals, neon signs, quirky unique photo booths, tablescapes that will fill your heart with colour, beautiful swoon worthy dresses, the coolest of bridal styling, a cool AF diamanté encrusted military bridal hat and, above all, the most endearing and uplifting smiles from the gorgeous models. You can tell that so much heart and creative soul has been poured into this shoot and that the suppliers and models involved had a blast whilst doing so!

There is something for everyone in this shoot. The diverse concept, which draws inspiration from both current and up and coming trends, is genius and has been executed to perfection. It’s extravagant in parts and minimalist in others and doesn’t hold back where either are concerned. It is daring, playful, sexy, evocative, fun, stylish, edgy and urban and we are so excited to be the ones sharing it with you today…

Stories of Events, Curators & Stylist of The Shoot

As this shoot had two different themes and four separate styling areas, two photographers were used to capture it. The awesome ladies of Stella Photography and Rachel Clarke Photography. We are sharing both of their images with you today.

Stories of Events the curators and stylists behind Tasteful Disco, talks us through the shoot and all of the suppliers involved.

Pastel Disco…

Toying with the idea of creating a pastel styled shoot with muted disco elements, we initially teamed up with Kitty from the Birdie Camper Van Photo Booth who provides beautiful blush pink campers, caravans and Mini Bars which we could use as little focal points throughout the shoot. Then together we gathered a team of amazing wedding creatives that would bring the concept alive.

For the venue we envisioned a space with light airy rooms and tall ceilings to use as a blank canvas for all our props and plenty of space for the floral explosions created by the team at Red Floral Architecture. We also needed outside space for all the vehicles from Birdie.

We chose Iscoyd Park for the shoot location. A stunning private country house bordering Shropshire and Cheshire, with a bright, airy ceremony room, a coach house with exposed brick work and expansive grounds.

With two shoots and four different areas involved we agreed we would need two photographers to capture the day; lucky for us two of the most amazing photographers were happy to be on board. Rachel Clarke Wedding Photography, who captures fun and colour like no other, and Zuzi from Stella Fotos who’s photos are insanely creative and always playful. These awesome girls captured everything; the style, the emotion, the fun, the colour, the details, all the little extras, the whole crazy shebang… .

Next on board, was the queen of the makeup brush and all around fab gal Andrea from Makeup by Andrea Baines. Having worked with Andrea a few times we knew that she would be able to effortlessly recreate two amazing looks for our shoot with a wave of her magic make up wand.

“I was delighted to be invited on board for this shoot with some amazing suppliers and an insane venue. I had worked with the model Elena before and knew we would be able to achieve some flawless make up looks. To compliment the first styling set up of muted pastel colours, I chose to go with mauve tones with a hint of pink. The skin was fresh and cheeks had a pop of pastel blush. For the second styling set, the theme was disco and we really ramped the make up look! I added an orangey red lip that really packed a punch and glossed up Elena’s lids whilst covering them in glitter stars. This look was more on the alternative bridal style but within the setting it looked perfect”

Once we had makeup sorted we needed to find a wedding hair stylist. Helen from Elegance Hair Design was keen to be on board, and was up for the challenge. For our muted part of the shoot Helen created loose curls, adding a centre parting, for a modern, funky look – held into place with diamanté celestial star style slides supplied from Flamingo Boulevard Bridal Studio. For the neon shoot we really wanted a more edgy look, a mix of 1970’s height and curls, but for the modern bride – a real statement hairstyle that would suit a bold, confident, individual bride.

The muted shoot dress from Flamingo Boulevard Bridal was the Lunella from Willowby – the most stunning natural tulle dress, encrusted with beautiful sparkling faceted stones, and gorgeous cuffed chiffon sleeves. Romantic, floaty, magical with a modern rock chick edge.

“We at Flamingo Boulevard Bridal were asked to be involved in this incredible shoot and couldn’t really say no! Combining the concept of ‘muted disco’ with our pieces and the rest of the insane team was just always going to be a winner! We knew straight away which of our pieces would be ideal for the shoot – think studio 54 but bridal! We bought the sparkle, pearls, capes and all the frills to the two looks – both of which we combined with the perfect statement accessories! All of this, styled with the disco diva hair and make-up, gave the shoot that fun and playful kinda vibe!”
Flamingo Boulevard Bridal

We topped off the look with one of our diamanté encrusted military BRIDE hats created in house especially for the shoot – to add a little bit of extra fun to the shoot.

Changing into bridal separates for the neon shoot, a gorgeous top and skirt by Wtoo, the simple, but perfectly cut Artie top and the cute, floaty but funky Lunella skirt. Finishing it off with a stunning pearl encrusted cape which created a romantic, unique, edgy look for our bride.

Dramatic Dyed Florals & Neon Signs…

Where to start with the florals! Mat from Red Floral Architecture is known for his extravagant, off the wall, jaw dropping floral installations, so when Kitty messaged us to say he was up for the shoot I have to say we did a little whoop… we’ve been Insta stalking him for ages.

The most beautiful, dramatic arrangements with pastel dyed wild flowers, grasses and flashes of gold sat on acrylic stands and framed the table set up. Individual bud vases were used as centrepieces with beautiful delicate flowers and grasses that complimented the table setting. ‘It started with a kiss..’ neon sign provided by Stacy at Love Lights The Way provided a focal point behind the table, beautifully adorned with floral arrangements which finished the setting.

The bouquets – for the muted shoot Mat made a gasp worthy beautiful bouquet using dried, fresh and dyed flowers mixed with various grasses, adding contrasting black for the edgy look. The results were delicate, beautiful, intriguing and unique. For the neon shoot he created a show stopping riot of colour, orange, purple, bright pink and yellow, using fresh and dried flowers, grasses and tinsel, a crazy mix that just worked.

Trendy Stationery…

We contacted our favourite Scottish stationery gal Stacey at Love Paper Co who we’d worked with previously – we seem to read each others minds when designing stationery – we send her our ideas and pins… and literally seconds later she sends a screen shot of her vision and they were always the same !! We knew we wanted to have arches for the muted part of the shoot – lucky for us Stacey had also been working on arch ideas – the colours and font were perfect, the welcome sign, the menus and the invites were bloody gorgeous – we just love love love this stationery suite…

Flipping over to the neon shoot – we gave Stacey from Love Paper Co the brief of neon, fun, bold, 70’s disco feel, but with a modern twist. Using fun colours, shapes and finishes ( she knows we love a tassel) this stationery suite really fit the brief. Perfect for a couple who want to show their fun, individual style and inject a little bit of neon into their day.

Tasteful Disco…

We had a clear vision for the muted table, to create a mix of textures, of muted pastels, pinks and greens, the gorgeous menus and place cards made by Stacey matched the table perfectly. Mat’s individual bud vases and beautiful flowers really finished the table, and tied into the stunning backdrop, and huge floral arrangements that he created.

The arch styling was carried through with our arched screens, painted in various shades of pale pinks, and coating some in silver hologram, for a tasteful disco feel. These provided a stylish backdrop not only for the ceremony, but could also be incorporated into the evenings events. You can’t have a disco shoot without disco balls, so we styled clusters of disco balls at various set ups and we also made a ribbon backdrop, using pastel colours that ran through the shoot. We got our family talents on board too to make us the HUGE cinema box, to inject a little bit of disco fun.

A Riot of Neon…

For the neon side of styling the BIRDIE Camper Bar provided the focal point needed for a creative masterpiece conjured up by Stacy from Love Lights the Way and Mat from Red Floral. Installing a huge, dramatic velvet curtain backdrop, using neon ups lighters, ‘Drunk In Love’ neon sign, disco balls, flowers, feathers, tinsel, balloons and black swans they created a riot of colour and the perfect place for signature cocktail making or the display of one of Little Button Bakery’s edgy cakes.

For the table, Stacy from Love Lights the Way installed a genius of a mesh backdrop, with neon coloured lighting tubes, that Red Floral dressed with flowers – it was the perfect backdrop! The table itself was a riot of neon colours, neon candles, runners, napkins, mini disco balls, individual vases with bright bud and gerbera flowers, neon menus and place cards. Showing how a fun, bright, neon table can also be tasteful… and perfect for a unique, un-wedding wedding.

A Suitcase Filled with Rainbows…

When your celebrant rocks up with purple hair, a personalised leather jacket, a suitcase full of rainbow and glitter clothes , shoes of all different styles and colours – and an earring collection to match – you know you have found your disco spirit animal… Hazel at Sun Kissed Ceremonies is a special kind of celebrant – do not, and I mean DO NOT book her to be your celebrant if you want a nice, semi formal, relaxed, discreet ceremony – its not going to happen. However if you want an off the wall, funny, unique, colourful ceremony delivered by the most gorgeous lady, that your guests are going to love – give Hazel a call. All your guests will be jealous they didn’t book her first.

2 Genius Cakes…

When you get a national award winning cake maker on your team you know there is going to be something a little bit special created… and Kate from Little Button Bakery delivered just that! Creating two looks for our creative shoot. First up, a simplistic modern 4 tier cake with clear tier separators decorated using iridescent tassels, discs and wrap – this cake was not only unique and pretty, but cool AF! Then there was the neon cake – A 3 tiered cake with a mixture of square and round tiers, decorated with oodles of paint splatter, stunning pastel coloured baked flowers bursting across the centre (The Happy Blossoms) and a bright silk ribbon mix trailing down from Silk & Purl. The cake was accented on a bright orange triangular metal cake stand from Bramble Sky. All of that on a cake? Sounds a little bit crazy, but it was nothing short of genius..!

Pretty In Pink…

Outside the Coach House at Iscoyd; Kitty had set up BABS – a 1950s marshmallow pink – light up bubble caravan. Pretty in pink on the outside and a kaleidoscope of colour on the inside. This fairground themed caravan photo booth was complete with carousel horse head, neon sign, graffiti hearts, fairground signage, props galore and all the glitter you could throw at it. It provided the perfect place for some more playful shots with our loved up couple.
