Oh dear readers, if this gorgeously happy wedding doesn’t lift you on this dreary Tuesday then I don’t know what will!
Featuring an awesome member of our festival wedding directory, photographers and all round lovely people The Wild Bride, Steffi and Jonny’s wonderful day is the perfect amalgamation of whimsical sophisticated style, with decor that is stripped back, natural and luxurious. It comes with plenty of inspiration for an outdoor barn style wedding (we are loving the ceremony tent) and also features wild inspired flowers in rusty vintage tones and a rustic stone bricked barn adorned with green foliage. Add to that the stylish vibe to both the bride and groom (Steffi’s earrings and the pearl detail on her dress though) and you have the perfect example of a bohemian wedding luxe theme – we love it!
Steffi and Jonny share with us more details on their day, their favourite moments and the suppliers who pulled out all the stops to help make it happen.
Enjoy lovely people. The smiles and happiness beaming from Steffi and Jonny has really lifted my soul today. My goodness do I love a wedding!!!!
Steffi & Jonny…
Why did you choose your venue? It felt like a home away from home but much more luxurious. We liked the laid back feel and that we had ownership of the whole estate for 3 days.
What did you both wear on the day? I wore a Bon Bride high neck backless wedding dress, trimmed with pearls and Jonny wore a Navy 3 piece tailor made Hackett suit.
What kind of decor did you have? It was whimsical but modern – lots of foliage and our colour theme was gold, black, neutrals and dusty pink tones.
What kind of flowers did you have? The theme was whimsical wild, natural, rusty vintage tones. Bouquets including eucalyptus and roses, pampas grass arrangements and peony with lots of green foliage to decorate the long tables for dinner. We also had green foliage running around the beams in the barn.
Tell us about the food? The food was delicious, croquettes to start and beef cheek for main. We had canapés for the reception.
What were your special moments? Definitely the dinner – we had our musician playing the piano throughout and everyone got singing and dancing along to songs they had requested throughout the meal.
The ceremony was also very special, saying our vows that we had written ourselves in front of all our loved ones.
Tell us about your entertainment? Musician was Micheal G Moore, an amazing pianist who we actually met at a piano bar in London on one of our first dates. We always wanted him to play at our wedding so it was so special to actually have him there on the day!
Favourite photo and why? It is one where myself and Jonny are up on our chairs during the dinner singing Wonderwall by Oasis to each other! All the guests were up on their feet singing and dancing along.
Any advice to couples planning their wedding day? Go with your gut on the venue even if it means saving up and paying a little more. The venue can really make a wedding and Dewsall definitely did. Also make sure you hire a decent band/musician as the music also can really make a wedding party one to remember! Our musician was great and it wouldn’t have been the same without him.
