Trick or treat you ask? Well how about we start with a treat, because that is most definitely how we would describe the last of our Halloween inspired styled shoots – a dark, elegant and sexy treat to the eyes that is rich in both Halloween bridal and wedding décor ideas and inspiration.

Put together by Keri of Off Duty Weddings and captured by Sammy Taylor Wedding Photography, Something Wicked This Way Comes was inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth and features two bridal styles that aims to capture the powerful and maddening side of Lady Macbeth. Couple this with a décor set up that champions the dark rich colours that coincide with this time of year and you have the perfect display of eerie wedding sophistication.

Keri talks us through her brilliant concept and all of the wonderful suppliers that helped make it happen.

Look out for the beautiful upcycled gowns by Poppy Perspective and the incredible bouquet by Delicately Bohemian.

Enjoy peeps and happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!

Something Wicked This Way Comes…

Words By Keri of Off Duty Weddings

I have always wanted to put together a stylish Halloween shoot and my inspiration came from my favourite Shakespeare play – Macbeth.

Set in the stunning grounds of Longton Wood, which provided a perfect eery setting to reflect the dark elements of Macbeth, I bought together some of my favourite local suppliers.

The woodland was styled to perfection by husband and wife team Roxanne and Ed from the Little Wedding Warehouse with a gorgeous red velvet seating area adorned with hanging star lanterns and on-trend neon backdrop. Ed handcrafts the majority of their collection, including the stunning round table featured in this shoot, while Roxanne’s styling and eye for detail brings everything together. Working alongside Nat from A Touch of Vintage and Daisy from Delicately Bohemian, they put together a jaw dropping tablescape.

A relatively new face to the Kent Wedding scene, Daisy from Delicately Bohemian describes her style as “flowers for the modern bohemian” and definitely for those brides who aren’t afraid to step outside the box. I was in awe of her jaw-dropping floral construction and use of colour.

Model Georgia wore two hand-made gowns by Phiney from Poppy Perspective. The deep ivory dress was made from a mix of vintage lace and fabrics and the red off the shoulder gown was made from a red vintage piano shawl.

Bringing everything together it had to be photography goddess, Sammy Taylor. Sammy has photographed the weddings of most of the people I know and her work speaks for itself but it is for sure Sammy’s personable nature that makes her a favourite with couples. That and her clever use of smoke bombs that has earned her the nickname “Smokebomb Sammy” among us wedding suppliers.

Of course, these shots wouldn’t have been possible without Ed lurking stealthily behind the statement Longton doors, gracefully waving the smoke canisters to get the shots!
