Jewel Toned Romantic Beach Wedding Ideas

Happy Friday Beautiful People! I hope you have all had a good week? It’s been a busy one for us so we are looking forward to chilling out this weekend and (hopefully) catching the last of the summer sun before Autumn descends on us. Can you believe we are in September already? Madness how quickly August came and went.

Before we say ‘sayonara’ to the Summer, we have a gorgeous beach elopement styled shoot to share with you all today. Captured on the South coast of England in a hidden bay in Broadstairs, reached only by foot down a steep coastal path. It was put together by the oh so lovely and oh so talented Sammy Taylor Photography who, along with other awesome wedding creatives, has been on a mission in 2020 to provide as much fresh wedding inspiration as possible for couples whose plans have been affected by Covid-19. This is the fifth shoot we have featured of Sammy’s (we may be a little obsessed with her work – click here if you want to see why) that she has created this year. We ADORE her work and have been so inspired by her positive attitude surrounding the pandemic…

A romantic beach bridal shoot has been in my diary since January! Due to Covid-19 it was sadly all postponed. Because of weddings facing such heartbreaking restrictions at the moment, it just inspired me more and more to show brides how wonderful couple shoots (to mark their love for one another) can be. Even if their ‘big’ wedding day had to be moved to next year, I had hoped to offer some positivity to couples that they can still celebrate this year with something more intimate perhaps.

Full of lush romantic vibes and featuring real life couple Emily Stoner & Josh Carter, Oceano D’amore comes with so many wonderful ideas for a small intimate wedding. The rich jewel toned colour palette works beautifully against the pale natural landscape of the cove and the flower installation above the low tablescape is awe-inspiring. It blows my mind that the wedding creatives involved in this shoot carried everything you see down a cliff, all in name of wedding inspiration! That is exactly the sort of thing we would do if it means getting the best out of our ideas and concept.

Oceano D’amore…

As soon as lock-down eased and we were allowed to visit beaches, my Fiance and I decided to spend a day walking the coastline of Broadstairs. We spent the entire day finding little beaches, secret little coves and idyllic areas for my creative ideas. Naturally I didn’t want to organise a shoot to be watched by hundreds of people so as you see, I managed to persuade my team to take an adventure with me to a more remote location. It was a big ‘ask’, but as always, they were up for the challenge.

This location is not easy to get to at all; parking wasn’t nearby and also, once you arrive, it is a VERY slippery and steep 45 degree climb down. Let’s say there were a few curse words flying around whilst holding tables, rugs and giant suspended flower installations etc (sorry team!) Once we all made it down safely (just), we then had the wonderful pressure of the tide coming in steadily towards us. I had meticulously timed everything but these kind of shoots aren’t for the fainthearted.

A Beautiful Romantic Lounging Table…

The Little Wedding Warehouse and A Touch of Vintage UK got to work quickly styling the most beautiful lounging table area and thanks to them, it gave me all the romantic feels I was after. Gorgeous rugs and pillows matched with vintage tableware and candles – what more does a romantic beach shoot need!?

Xyris Botanicals, having pre-styled the floral installation at her farm, added the finishing touches to hang above the table and the end result was just SO BEAUTIFUL. Every single flower you see in this shoot has been attentively grown on her farm for months, and she even wandered off the coastline to forage some more to add.

Live Covid-19 Friendly Makeup Tutorial…

Meanwhile, whilst we were all risking our lives (kind of) Off Duty Wedding HMUA had styled our brides hair with a ‘beachy wave’ look and then proceeded to give her a live make up tutorial using bold pinks for the eyes. Covid-19 continues to present us with some strange and difficult restrictions, but all we can do is embrace this time the best we can. The result, once more, was fab!
