Oh dear readers do we have a treat for your eyes today with a GORGEOUS boho meets quirky LGBTQ micro real wedding, captured brilliantly by Lucie B. Photo. It is simple, it is chic and it is a beautiful celebration of love and happiness and we have been so looking forward to sharing it with you all.
Naomi (she) and Klaire (they) said I do on November 3rd 2020 at Tuffet Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. Their beautiful intimate day came with a bohemian meets urban chic vibe with a seasonal autumnal colour palette used throughout the decor and flowers. We absolutely ADORE everything about it, from Klaire’s classy yet edgy velvet green suit, to their bespoke signature cocktails, intimate couple portraits (we love the ones captured within their ceremony area) and the awesome images of Naomi skateboarding around Brooklyn. You can clearly see that they had a ball on their wedding day. The energy and love between them bounces off these images and it has been a pleasure putting their feature together.
If 2020 taught the wedding industry one thing, it is the beauty that can be found in small intimate weddings and Naomi and Klaire’s is most definitely a testimony to that. They said…
The pandemic has had an impact on every couple planning their wedding, but it doesn’t have to stop them from celebrating. It’s been kinda cool to be able to focus more on our love for each other and less on tradition. Our vendors helped us craft a super personalized, intimate celebration during these weird times, and we wouldn’t do it any other way. Micro weddings can be just as full of life, distinctive and impactful as traditional weddings!

A Patio Micro Wedding…
We found it through our wedding planner Marian from Marian Frances Weddings who basically coordinated everything. We chose it because of the nice patio they have in the back. Lots of greenery and string lights make it the perfect nook for a patio micro wedding.
We wanted a cute backyard wedding with an urban twist as we live in Brooklyn and it’s a big part of our life. We wanted it to be intimate both for safety reasons but also because of who we are (we’re no fuss!)
Boho Meets Urban Chic in Fall Colours…
Our theme was boho meets urban chic vibe with a seasonal autumn color palette.
Our ceremony was intimate, we had a large floral creation with dried pampas grass and an oriental rug. We just said our vows to each other.
Our florist Lauren from Yellow Bow Florals is the one who decorated the patio with gorgeous, Fall colored flower arrangements. A mix of white, light pink and red roses, orange carnations and dried pampas grass; it looked stunning!
Our wedding was in November so we wanted a Fall vibe, but still edgy and original. The bouquet and floral creations had a mix of white, beige, light pink, orange and red hues. Her creations were inspired by warm autumn tones that blended the boho-chic and urban vibe into a fine art, fresh look.
A BHLDN Gown & A Velvet Suit…
Naomi had a boho / romantic BHLDN wedding gown with lace at the top and tulle at the bottom. She wore it with a vintage leather jacket and white boots for a fun rocknroll bride look. Klaire had a classy yet edgy velvet green suit that got a lot of compliments.
We have a quirky style so those outfits matched our vibe! We also brought a disco ball for photos which was the perfect little prop!
Unique Bespoke Stationery…
Our invites and menus were made by our graphic designer Sarah from Chow Designs. She also made personalized signage for the signature drinks and a unique guest book based on a drawing of us – everyone loved it and it was a big success!
Who We Really Are…
Our photographer is Lucie from Lucie B. Photo. We didn’t want traditional photos and she captured us for who we really are: quirky, fun, free-spirited with a bit of a rebellious heart. We had so much fun taking the photos on our skateboard or at the laundromat for example!
Favourite Moment…
When we said our vows to each other. Also when we got kicked out of the laundromat for taking photos there – that was a fun experience
Any Advice?
Despite Covid, you can still make your wedding fun, safe and personalized, and have a good excuse to skip traditions and a large number of guests!
