Oh my goodness do we have an absolute treat for your wedding planning eyes today lovely readers! We are so in love with this shoot. Full of bohemian glamour and beach wedding inspiration, it was captured at the stunning Hacienda Barrigona. A hidden gem off the coast of Costa Rica with its own private beach and villa which offers such an incredible secluded place for a destination wedding or intimate elopement. Book us tickets there now please!
Inspired by travel destinations Tulum and Morocco, Mystic Breeze was put together by One Heart Event Planning, who wanted to infuse their love for bohemian wedding glamour with Moroccan style, whilst still capturing the exotic vibes of their home country – Costa Rica. The result is a beautifully balanced shoot that combines luxury and bohemian decorations and furniture with exuberant tropical flower installations, and explores an interchanging bridal and groom style that can be both relaxed and formal.
We love it when a shoot fuses contrasting wedding styles and themes together, and Mystic Breeze is the perfect example of why. The intimate reception setting, with its eclectic mix of bohemian and luxury decor, looks magical against the white sand and blue of the ocean. It offers a wedding space that is both romantic and relaxed – the perfect combination for a beach wedding if you ask us! We also love the subtle hues of gold throughout too, from the stationery to the brides jewellery and shoes – these hints of gold add just the right amount of glamour to each element and brings the overall contrasting themes together.

Mystic Breeze is a styled shoot in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, a boho-glam themed elopement with a touch of something Morrocan, combining white and neutral hues with the turquoise waters of the ocean.
It was inspired by the travel destinations Tulum, Morocco, and of course the exoticness of our country Costa Rica – A blend of something glam, neutral, gypsy, but also natural and relaxing. “A little mystic, a little breezy” – That is where the title Mystic Breeze came from.
The venue itself is a hidden gem – A boutique hotel that has its own access to this private and pristine Barrigona Beach, making it as if we had this stunning paradise exclusively to ourselves. Inside the property, it has its fascinating colonial style: Beautiful courtyard, terracotta stucco walls and countless antique wooden details.
For decor, we incorporated lots of dried tropical leaves with fresh white florals. We wanted a 180º ceremony set-up where guests could sit on pillows or rugs on the sand surrounding the couple who exchanged their vows. To make it more mystic we added the aroma of burning white sage incense. For the reception, wicker elements and hand-woven macramé lamps contrasted so well with the extravagant crystal chandeliers, also with washed-wood furniture, porcelain charger plates, Morrocan candle holders, boho cake with weaved details, Palo Santos as wedding favors… Everything with the ocean as the backdrop.
Our bride’s convertible gown with removable sleeves was another attraction. It had lace sleeves with attached tulle giving it a dramatic and romantic feel for the ceremony. But once the reception started the sleeves could be easily taken off and, with a carnival crown, statement earrings and more colorful makeup, it gave the bride a total change, looking funkier and more comfortable for her to move around, dance and relax.
Through this shoot we would like to inspire free-spirited couples looking for beach weddings with style, glamour and uniqueness. We hope you like it!
