Oh are we loving today’s inspiration decor shoot. Put together and captured by Laura Martha Photography, and featuring the talents of Kent wedding stylists Hire Love, it took place within an abandoned Victorian greenhouse in Sissinghurst – a unique space that offered the perfect atmospheric backdrop for the intimate rustic Ibiza theme. Picture the relaxed bohemian bars of Ibiza’s old town and then add to that a muted colour palette of earthy hues, linen in natural fibers, disco balls, dried flowers, plenty of texture, and modern chic bridal attire. It is a styling theme that we absolutely adore and, the best part about it, it comes with a focus on sustainability with Hire Love, and some of the other suppliers involved such as Rooted In Rosemary and Lilley Studio, using ethical practices when sourcing the decor and materials they have used in this shoot.

Originally planned on a sandy beach in Sussex for Autumn, Muted Ibiza, like so many other styled shoots and weddings of 2020, became a victim of the pandemic with Laura being forced to change the venue at the very last minute due to the second national lockdown. Determined to still go ahead, she located the beautiful Sissinghurst Location House and reduced the onsite suppliers to just her and hire love. This meant she could no longer have a model involved in the shoot and decided to focus on creating beautiful decor ideas for couples instead. The result is simple yet absolutely gorgeous and we have been so looking forward to sharing what they have created with you all today.

Rustic Ibiza Vibes…

Words by Laura Martha Photography

I wanted to create a mini Ibiza themed styled wedding shoot with an intimate modern bohemian feel. Think an Old Town Ibiza beach bar but within a UK countryside location!

Along with wedding stylists Rachael and David from Hire Love, the shoot was originally planned to take place in Autumn on a beautiful beach in Sussex but sadly, due to the second national lockdown, the beach was closed and we were forced to revisit our plans. We needed to find a venue that matched the theme and where we could create safely in a space that allowed us to socially distance. Sissinghurst Location House was perfect. It offered a beautiful Victorian greenhouse, lovingly kept in its rustic form by owner Sally. The day came and, as we set to work on building our intimate Ibiza wedding scene, the sun was setting and the light was golden, bouncing off all the earthy colours within both the decor and throughout the interior of the greenhouse.

The dried flowers, in all their everlasting textured glory, were provided by Rooted in Rosemary and were the perfect accompaniment to the table decor. This was then elevated further by Sundown Paper who created the fun youthful stationery suite adding the only pop of colour in beautiful blush.

The shoot was designed to provide inspiration to all those chilled Ibiza babes out there, keeping it intimate, personal and fancy! It also happened to be a collaboration with exhibitors from the UK’s most sort after wedding show, Most Curious Wedding Fair. Hire Love, Laura Martha Photography, Lilley Studio, Rooted in Rosemary and Sundown Paper all exhibit at this bang on trend wedding show making this mini sunset shoot a one to watch for the latest exciting wedding trends!

Rattan, Bamboo, Linen and Leather…

Words by David of Hire Love

We were given a pretty open brief by Laura. She said; “Relaxed, Rustic Ibiza Vibes” with the original location being on a sandy beach on the Sussex coast. We got busy thinking on how to create a nod to the white Isle, and also to highlight our drive for ethical practices and sustainability. However, as Laura explained, the first national lockdown happened and the shoot was unfortunately cancelled. We then got to work on how we could maintain social distancing and have a very small crew on the shoot, along with having to find a new location as the beach had been closed. The shoot crew ended up being just two people; the photographer and assistant stylist Rachael (and the dog, watching on (mostly) from the van).

We had to work at lightning speed as the sun was setting fast. The softening of the light and the warm glowing hues of the sun worked beautifully with the natural textures and colour palette of both the table decor and within the location. This earthy organic vibe was then juxtaposed against the Ibiza glamour of the mirror balls, sparkly dress and luxe chic wedding vibes of the silk wedding gown and bridal blazer.

For the decor we had selected rattan, bamboo, linen and leather in a muted colour palette, with highlights coming from the soft pink in the cutlery and stationery. This was complemented with candle holders and placemats from H&M Home and Anthropologie.

The last-minute change of location made us work faster and smarter to achieve the results we wanted and, in the end, the shoot turned out better than we had hoped for. The derelict abandoned personality of the greenhouse elevated the organic natural Ibiza inspired theme beautifully and complimented the earthy colours and natural fibers perfectly.
