The Most Curious Manchester show is most definitely a carefully curated showcase of some of the creme de la creme of the North West’s coolest wedding vendors. It was always our plan to bring together the local amazing talent of the region BUT, for those of you who missed the London show or want some London wedding design action right there on your doorstep, here is a run down of 10 London mega babes who will be bringing London Most Curious Family vibes to Manchester.

WHO CAN YOU CATCH FROM LONDON AT THE MANCHESTER SHOW?

There are 60 exhibitors in total over the two Archive arches at The Depot Mayfield as well as three or four more brilliant suppliers who showcased at London. These suppliers are actually Northerners who trekked down to the big smoke for the London show! Basically, Manchester (like London) is going to be a melting pot of pure goodness, firm family, newbies, first timers, old timers, north, south and everything in between. All bringing together a wonderful show for you to find your dream suppliers and have a mega stylish and fun day out as well!

The Workbench Wedding Box

First up is The Workbench – absolute stalwarts of the cool end of the wedding industry – innovation, style-savvy, fashion led, bespoke and personalised approach to all our favourite things! Set up by trained jewellery designers BFFs Katie (Crux London) and Kirstie (Kirstie MacLaren) who are incredibly proud to say they are the original ring carving. The Workbench Wedding Box makes it possible for you to create your very own wedding ring with the wax carving kit, which comes with enough wax to make one wedding band. So why not get a box each and help carve each others? Get married with wedding bands, you made, for each other. So perfect and meaningful. Come and see them on Saturday!

AM Faulkner

AM Faulkner will be there, showcasing her brand her 2020 collection MILK & HONEY which officially dropped just days ago! Safe to say it’s got all the hallmarks of a knock out AM Faulkner new range – experimental and interesting materials and techniques; references to trends but pushing them to new and cooler heights but also a total disregard of trends; and, instead making her own from personal and authentic influences, top quality finishes, fabrics and craftsmanship with a near obsessive attention to detail. And there’s a new cape collaboration with fellow London/Manchester exhibitor Velvet Johnstone too.

Velvet Johnstone

Most Curious could not actually happen without Velvet Johnstone being there. From finding each other in 2014, to her creating THAT jumpsuit in this year’s campaign. Made to our brief from a pair of vintage curtains, this iconic jumpsuit is now part of her brand new collection launching at the Most Curious shows. It’s been magic working with her, from start to finish, and we know it’s still just the beginning! Pattern cutting, Kylie and Barbie obsessive in equal measure, this true creative force and talent is nothing short of an artist and she will bring that artistic bridal vibe to your wedding day. So feminine and cool, beautifully made with unusual tucks and cuts that create inspiring silhouettes, sexy and romantic but sort of grungy and edgy all at the same time.

Andrea Hawkes

ANDREA HAWKES is sponsoring both the Manchester and London show and showcasing their beautiful, sleek, chic and modern yet timeless design. They create pieces that their clients can feel comfortable, special and entirely themselves in. All pieces are made in London by their extremely talented in house team from the finest natural silks and French lace.

“We love working with our clients to adapt/customised our designs and we also offer a bespoke service,” describes Andrea. “The most important thing is that our clients feel relaxed and at home in our showroom and with our team. We promise to provide an honest and approachable service to everyone! Head on over to our stand to ask any questions and see the dresses, separates and jumpsuits!”

Lee Garland Photography

Lee Garland will be seen once again hiding nervously round the corner from his Manchester stand (read: potentially at the bar or having a giggle with someone from the team) letting his pictures do the talking for him, just as he did at London! The hard sell actually makes Lee feel weird and, after seeing his stand at London, we can honestly say that we don’t blame him for hiding away as his images do really speak for themselves. They couldn’t be more beautiful – so you keep doing you Lee! The way he uses light and the heart melting calm, quiet and softness of every image really does stop you in your tracks. Even though there is so much love, laughter and joy and movement in them, there’s also a stillness in the moment that we bloody love. We are stoked to have him join us at Manchester this weekend.

Photo Press Wedding Stationery

PHOTO PRESS make genius newspapers and stationery for your Wedding or Civil Partnership celebrations! Her newspapers tell your love story, give info on the day and set the tone of the proceedings. She can create save the dates, invites, order of service or thank yous (or all 4 if you like)! They can include all your important details, fave photos and all the bits in between and are 100% bespoke. Sarah, of Photo Press, will be bringing her grey and copper stand with industrial vibes and, we’re really excited to see the Most Curious themed Newspaper that she has created especially for the event!

Ed Godden

Fresh from the London show, Ed Godden will be joining us again this weekend! We’ll pass you over to him, but needless to say his style of photography makes you and everyone look as cool AF and his warm heart and eye, captures those poignant moments, where real love just shines through each image.

“Hi, I’m Ed. I photograph weddings in a very relaxed style, letting the day naturally unfold around me, while I shoot a collection of stunning photographs you will cherish forever. The thought of my couples looking through the photos I shot on their 10th, 25th, or even 50th wedding anniversary is really pretty amazing! My images are gritty, edgy, and have a cinematic timeless feel to them. Its not fake, contrived, or posed perfection. I shoot real life, captured as you remembered it. I want my photos to have feeling to them, and to immerse you into every scene, and to remind you of all the fun you and your guests had on your wedding day.”

Alison Macleod Jewellery

Alison Macleod Jewellery makes wonderful rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets inspired by antique treasures. The Catkin Collection draws on a design seen long ago on an antique ring and is made by layering hundreds of tiny disks to make a pattern reminiscent of the Spring catkin flower.

“We love working collaboratively with customers to create something unique,” says Alison. “Customers can commission their own piece of bespoke jewellery using our current collections as a starting point. We can even incorporate gold and gems from your own unworn heirlooms.”

Boomting Bunting

So happy to welcome back Boomting Bunting as a sponsor AND for all three shows actually – LONDON, MANCHESTER AND NORWICH! They created our chintz and fancy theatrical vibes around the catwalk in line with this year’s FLORALITY AND PATTERNITY theme. Their set and theatre design background makes them so perfect for this task and we’re very excited! They are such a lovely team, warm and creative and relaxed but ready for challenges, big installs and big ideas! As the name suggests they do create beautiful bunting, as well as coloured draping in a more traditional sense if that’s what you need. Thay are also very happy to go more wild with your vision, no task is too big or small.

Twenty Six…

Creators of beautifully styled pop up bars TWENTY SIX we will be providing the bars, drinks and good times at Most Curious Manchester, just as they did at London! Spot these guys in these aprons behind a pink velvet bar, where you can also speak to them about what they could do for your wedding, whilst sipping on completely delicious Sacred Gin cocktails – we can attest to the banging flavours and also the strength!

Wedding Jam

Wedding Jam will be on the decks in the Archive Railway arches for the Manchester event. They are the loveliest and coolest collective of DJs, musicians and singers, who can offer a non-cheesy music soundtrack and good times at your wedding! These Liverpool based guys and girls know how important music is to pulling off a great party…

“Get the music right and you and your guests will remember your special day for years to come (for all the right reasons!),’ say the team. “We put you and your personality front and centre, working with you one-on-one to create a playlist that shows everyone exactly who you are!”

Come and meet them and hear some bespoke MCR iconic hits thrown in throughout the day!

Eclectic Strings UK

Eclectic Strings UK were an absolute hit at our London shows and they’ll be with us again this weekend. They were bombarded with enquiries and we’re not surprised as we saw people literally gasping and running over to them and, naming no names, but at least three members of the team were like, I can’t go near them because I’m going to burst into tears (in a good way). So stirring and moving but also way cool, with their string quartet and trio orchestral interpretations of modern songs from Beyonce to Ed Sheeran to Game of Thrones to Justin Bieber to Metallica to The Cure to The Jurassic Park Theme (always a hit at weddings).

Mariel Osborn

DE.Lighted to have Manchester girl Mariel Osborn with us at the MCR show again. This textile artist, stylist and prop maker creates wonderful shiny, tactile installations, backdrops and accessories for weddings, events, photoshoots, music videos and exhibitions. We love her and we know you’re gonna love her too. I think she’s gonna do something pretty rad installation wise at Depot Mayfield so make sure you’re there to get involved!

Romina Fochesatto

You may have seen Romina Fochesatto’s amazing work on the London catwalks – seen here in the behind the scenes imagery by Zach & Grace – well she is coming back as an actual exhibitor at Manchester, as the Argentinian/Italian bridal designer is based here! She graduated as an Haute Couture designer and specialises in bespoke design, focusing on detail and individuality.

“I believe that every wedding gown should reflect the individual soul of the bride, as well as the theme of her wedding” explains Romina. “That’s why I start every design by listening carefully to all the bride’s ideas and dreams before I start making her bespoke patterns and selecting her textiles. Every wedding gown is hand delivered personally by me on the day of the wedding, accompanying the bride in the moment of getting ready for the ceremony, making sure she is comfortable and happy.”
