Sophisticated, Stylish Micro-Wedding Ideas

Micro-wedding inspiration is coming your way today in the form of this super stylish styled shoot put together and captured by Sammy Taylor Photography as part of her brilliant Amore photography workshops. Think fashion led bridal and groom style, a floral garland with blooming roses, a bang on trend full white bouquet (we’re loving those peonies), photography with a cinematic film like narrative and the backdrop of Chelsea, London.

2020 and 2021 have been the years of micro-weddings and we have absolutely LOVED seeing couples embrace their circumstances and choose to have ceremony only weddings where they have upped the anti on their ‘ceremony’ bridal and groom style with wedding outfits that are the epitome of city chic and/or focus on the couples individual style. It has also been a joy to see couples have the freedom to spend more time on their couple portraits as well – jumping on tubes to different parts of London or climbing up a mountain to capture a once in a life time photo.

Today’s shoot is all about embracing the micro-wedding trend and my goodness has it done so beautifully. It is sophisticated, fun and has a design led focus on your bridal style which reminds me so much of the movie stars of the 70’s!

When asked about the inspiration behind the shoot, Sammy said…

After a very long year of wedding restrictions I have been passionately determined to show my couples and followers just how stylish and fun a Micro Wedding can be. Downsizing didn’t need to be disappointing. In fact, I have been encouraging couples to realise they could now potentially have two weddings… Micro wedding now, ‘big wedding’ later, and that is precisely what so many of my couples are doing. Or, simply just go for the Micro Wedding and save a ton of money cancelling the rest – either way, if you ask me, bringing in the idea of a Micro Wedding forward has been nothing but an exciting thought and something positive to plan and look forward to whilst in the midst of uncertain times.

To offer Micro Wedding inspiration of course, the key for any wedding photographer is to show what it can look like to their potential clients. This usually starts with a styled shoot, or in my case, a photography workshop. I launched Amore Workshops last year to help wedding photographers gain confidence in a non pressured environment, and more importantly, get the type of content they had been desiring.

This Chelsea Micro Wedding styled workshop offered ‘fashion forward’ inspo. From a quick registry signing at Marry Me In Chelsea and confetti on the iconic steps, to location hopping around Kings Road, you can’t deny this is such a cool way to celebrate your vows.

Styled so beautifully with a fab combination of wedding suppliers, my ideas truly came to life and we had SO much fun around Chelsea on this sunny afternoon! Since then I seemed to have inspired so many couples to book their Micro Wedding with me and it’s now my new FAVOURITE type of celebration to capture.
