The sun is shining and we are feeling the summer vibes on Festival Brides today. I hope you are all managing to find some time to have fun in the sun!
We have something a little bit different to share with you all today. A shoot that took place at Jean Jackson Couture in Manchester, a bridal boutique that specialises in bohemian and non traditional bridal wear. Along with photographers The Nobles and lifestyle blogger Jess of Life Above the Clouds, Bec and Felicity of Jean Jackson Couture wanted to recreate the wedding dress shopping experience featuring one of their favourite wedding dress labels, Rue De Seine.
Catharine of The Nobles explains…
The lovely Jess of ‘Life Above the Clouds’ brought a selection of the Rue de Seine ‘Moonrise Canyon’ collection to life. I loved seeing boutique owners Bec and Felicity’s passion for accessorising these and adding heaps of personality. The gowns are incredible and are truly boho luxe bliss – but seeing how Bec and Felicity got creative and put together looks with statement accessories was an amazing experience! From stetson hats, to layered necklaces and statement earrings and Jess’s flair for footwear – they created some epic bridal looks to inspire indie, bohemian, cool brides with free-spirit vibes!
If you are still on the hunt for your wedding dress, or if you have your dress but are wondering what accessories to go for, this feature is for you. Bec and Felicity are the Queens when it comes to perfecting your bridal look and they are not ones to shy from a statement piece or two!
Jean Jackson Couture…

Jean Jackson Couture is a family run business in Manchester, that specialises in bohemian and non traditional bridal wear. Our bohemian paradise can be found in the city centre, right in the heart of the Northern Quarter. Inside you can find dresses from Rue De Seine, Lovers Society, Laudae, Truvelle, Rish and Rish BOHO PLUS – a selection that can’t be found anywhere else in Europe.
We are firm believers that choosing a wedding dress is a very personal choice and that it should be a reflection of your own style, whilst celebrating body positivity and self love.
The studio is inspired by our wanderlust and love to travel, and this is reflected in the decor. It encapsulates the free spirited soul and provides a relaxed and laid back atmosphere.
Our dresses are versatile and can be styled in many different ways depending on what feels right for you, but we’re always on hand to offer styling advice.
When shopping for a wedding dress, it’s helpful to take into account your venue, so if you’re having a more relaxed wedding or getting married abroad, our dresses are perfect for you.
We first bonded with Jess over Instagram, through a love of all things bohemian, and as soon she was back on UK soil, we knew we had to meet. Jess epitomises the Rue De Seine bride – I mean she even turned up with hoards of hats, earrings and boots , she’s a dream! I can’t even imagine what she would choose for her wedding day, she just looked so good in everything!
Life Above The Clouds…

Arriving in to the bohemian wonderland of Jean Jackson Couture, I felt like a kid in a sweet shop! It’s every girls dream to float around in dreamy bridal gowns right?! The store blew my mind away first and then came THOSE Rue gowns!
I can only describe feeling like a complete bohemian badass bride in the Rue gowns. Down to every single detail; these are bridal dresses for those who seek to do things a little different to the norm. Cowboy boots on my wedding day? Here for that.
Little Rock was my favourite. It was like we both knew that, the dress and I! She fit so perfectly as if she was waiting for me to choose her all this time. The 70s vibe, the sleeves, I teamed it with my boyfriend fedora and docs- I don’t think I could have fallen more in love with a dress!
The Nobles…

I’m a big fan of Jean Jackson Couture’s vibe and collections, especially Rue de Seine! I mean the dresses always look so amazingly detailed and full of movement when you see photos of them on Instagram. I wanted to capture a boutique tour and snippets from their trunk show but Bec + Felicity had a better idea – to collaborate with Jess. It was awesome and I really still can’t pick a favourite from the looks they created! Seeing the dresses worn is an experience on a whole other level – and I loved the way they played with accessories. I’m obsessed with statement earrings and this try on session and shoot showed me a lot about the art of layering accessories and not being afraid to play.
The Rue de Seine wedding dresses are fantastically detailed in their own right with lace, crochet, statement sleeves, tassels and so on – so initially you might not consider adding more – but DO IT!! From the denim to hats, headdresses and different shoe options – it was seriously so much fun to see different creative looks come together. For me, this really shows the experience you can have with Bec and Felicity.
