Good morning beautiful ones, and welcome to the last Festival Brides real wedding of 2018! I can’t quite believe I am saying this….I mean, where has the year gone?! I’m not sure about you, but I’m not quite done with 2018 just yet. I am however, very excited for you if 2019 is the year that you become a Mrs – bring it on! Such exciting times ahead for you (heart emoji x 3). Whatever 2019 holds in store for you, whether it’s a full year of pre-wedding planning, or the year that you get hitched, I hope that Festival Brides has been and will continue to be the best free spirited, boho and festival inspiration for you. It’s been the most amazing year here on the blog and without all of you, it just wouldn’t have been the same!

Now on to today’s real wedding, and let me just say, we are closing 2018 with a bang! We welcome back the work of Anni Graham. an absolutely divine photographer and one of our fave photographers to showcase in our real wedding features this year. She shot Morgan and Austin on the clifftops of Vik, Iceland, overlooking magnificent scenery and Icelandic canyons. The pair decided that an elopement was the best fit for them, and took Anni to great heights to capture their intimate love affair!

We always wanted our special day to be unique to us, and Iceland has always been a special place for us both.

If you are planning an elopement wedding, try your best to relax. Just remember why you are eloping in the first place. And also remember how lucky you are to have found someone you want to spend the rest of your life with!

Without further ado, I hand over to the seriously beautiful Morgan to tell us about her epic Iclandic elopement union to tux-adorned Austin. The pair look dangerously in love, and we are so delighted that we (and all of you!) get to share their special day….

Cosy Cottage Retreat Surrounded by Beautiful Icelandic Scenery

We stayed in a secluded, very cosy, 300 sq. ft cottage about 45 minutes outside of Vik, Iceland. To get there you had to drive 30 minutes on a dirt road through some of Iceland’s most beautiful scenery.

Ceremony Readings Overlooking the Canyons

We read our vows to each other overlooking the canyons. It was such a beautiful moment. Austin waited patiently for me for over two hours in a strangers house making small talk with a nice Icelandic family whilst I had my hair and makeup done. He even ironed my ‘back up’ dress….I’ve always known how selfless Austin is, but in that moment, I knew I was the lucky one.

Favourite Moment

For Austin, it was where we stayed; it was so cosy and also very small! Getting ready in such a compact space was comical to say the least! He was a little stressed about it raining all day and was fumbling over the suitcases trying to get his cuff-links on, and then I came walking around the corner in my dress. A wave of happiness came over us and we forgot about everything except how happy we make each other, hence the dumb happy grins in practically every photo!

Any Advice?

There is always a pressure to follow the mold of a traditional wedding, but if that’s not you, have the courage to live out your own adventure. You will be so happy that you did.
