There is so much to love about today’s eclectic, indie boho styled wedding shoot put together and captured so beautifully by Lauren Elliot Photography. From the talented wedding suppliers involved to the inspiration it provides, there is not one element that we don’t like and the synchronicity between the decor, the styling of the couple and the grungy artistic vibes of the location is fantastic. It is a shoot that will most certainly leave you inspired, so get your wedding planners out peeps and start making some notes!
Championing alternative bridal and groom style with an underlying celestial theme, Indie Boho is a shoot that aims to inspire individuality as well as the confidence to explore contrasting wedding themes and styles. Here, Lauren has taken soft bohemian bridal and decor vibes (illustrated in the hair, flowers, crowns/hair pins and dresses) and juxtaposed this with edgy and eclectic groom styling, indie jewellery, a bespoke leather jacket, some very cool gold ankle boots and much more. There is also a play of light and dark with a colour palette that mixes pinks and creams with black and gold. I just love this. It works so well and is another example of how mixing up your themes and styles can elevate your wedding decor to another level.
Lauren talks us through the shoot and all of the creative wedding folk that made it happen.
Look out for the wedding stationery by Mama Inc Studio, the stamps by Art Stamped and the incredible hair accessories by Victoria Louise – in fact look out for every element of this shoot as it is all awesome!
Enjoy lovely peeps. This shoot is a keeper…
Edgy Celestial Wedding Vibes…
Words by Lauren Elliot
With this shoot I really wanted to inspire couples to push away from wedding norms, in an accessible way that people can relate too. The venue played a huge part in this. The Albert Hall is a Grade II listed Wesleyan chapel in Manchester City Centre, which has been turned into an incredible music and wedding venue. It’s huge stained glass windows and gorgeous tiled corridors make for the perfect wedding backdrop, all aged over time giving it a grungy vibe perfect for a stylish alternative couple.
To pair with such an epic venue I knew I needed to get on board a list of the most forward thinking wedding suppliers. Louise Elliott was the perfect choice of MUA with her campaign and editorial background, she creates flawless bridal looks that wouldn’t look out of place on a magazine cover.
The dresses were supplied by The White Yard, designed by E&W Couture they ranged from a sleek slip dress to a modern classic lace and fashion forward celestial gown. The celestial theme is huge right now so I really wanted to use this in the shoot as it’s a really gorgeous trend. We paired the celestial dress with a starry tiara from Victoria Louise and Sass & Co. created a relaxed ponytail to tie the look together in an understated way. Mama inc then painted a leather jacket which echoed the grunge look of the Albert Hall and an absolute must for a modern winter wedding, practical and stylish. The slip was paired with two amazing starry Crown and glory veils, which are a great way to personalise the look of a simpler dress. As we move into 2020 another huge trend emerging is clashing florals, so I knew I wanted to include a hint of this in my shoot. Wilderness floral created the most amazing bouquet with a mix of fresh and dried florals which was clashed with a floral foiled asos suit, for a modern groom. Bloody Mary metal supplied some epic rings which are all unisex and great alternatives to the usual diamond. Neon is another big trend right now and antha event hire has a huge selection of them. Neons are a great backdrop for top tables as well as looking amazing near the dance floor. Favours are often left behind by guests, so edible ones are a great way to ensure money isn’t wasted. Grace Emily made biscuits, which look great on the tables and taste even better. All the stationary was created by mama inc and really tied together all the different themes brought the whole together, showing you can chose multiple themes to your wedding.
