Dramatic, theatrical, dark, decadent and indulgent are all the words we would use to describe today’s brilliant Halloween inspired styled shoot. Executed to perfection by all of the suppliers involved, it has an eerie yet inviting atmosphere to it which you can’t help but be drawn too. From the brilliant storytelling of photographer Thyme Lane Photography to the dramatic yet sophisticated ideas behind the styling – it is mesmerising and we feel very lucky to be sharing it with you all today…
This shoot was planned to be eerie, strong, theatrical and sexy, all in a subtle and mesmerising way. All the props, food and cake are full of Autumnal colours and richness. We used smoke and a lot of candles against black to achieve a strong Halloween mood.

As well as striving for a strong Halloween mood, this shoot also had a focus on sustainability, working with suppliers who have an eco-friendly approach and a desire to bring eco-change to the wedding industry. Noemi of Thyme Lane Photography explains…
We concentrated heavily on sustainability and eco-minded approach when putting this shoot together, all suppliers who participated are focusing on making the wedding industry as eco friendly as possible by reuse/recycle readily available items and reducing carbon footprint.
The flowers were sustainably foraged, the headpiece was made using vintage pieces, dress made of vintage lace, accessories fully handmade, stationery on handmade paper using dyed with natural pigments and no printer used.
All wooden boards and trays handmade and stained.

There really is so much to adore about this shoot. Each and every element deserves it’s moment in the lime light as it is all so good. The venue, with it’s exposed beams and dusty floor boards, couldn’t be more perfect for this shoot – despite it’s disheveled appearance, the styling of the décor and bride and groom, and that wonderful rich orange Autumnal colour palette of the table setting, elevates this aged appearance and transforms it into something so beautiful and inspiring.
The cake is also a deliciously dark masterpiece. If you look closely, you will notice tiny black skulls on the tiers of the cake, that from a distance looks like black lace. It is this tiny attention to detail that makes this shoot so so good and it is evident in all of the elements. You call tell that this was a theme the suppliers really enjoyed sinking their teeth into and we are so glad they did. Add to that the dramatic energy between the Bride and Groom and you have the perfect blend to create such beautifully dark Halloween inspiration. We love it.
Hold on to your witches and wizard hats lovely people as things are about to get a bit spooky around here!
Enjoy
