It’s Friday, the sun has been shining and we are most definitely in the mood for the weekend. We hope you have all had a good week?

We have the perfect shoot to share with you all today. Channeling bohemian bridal and decor styling, it was put together by Blossom & Root Design, Mark Bamforth Photography, North & Wild Events and Amber & Boheme to inspire couples whose wedding planning has been affected by the pandemic. To illustrate the beauty that can be found in an intimate wedding ceremony and reception…

We really loved this shoot! We wanted to really show couples that although we were in lockdown and things have been tough this year, that they could still enjoy an intimate elopement style wedding and really enjoy being together and understanding that you can still have all those aspects of a regular sized wedding, albeit down sized – they are just as beautiful.

The worldwide lockdowns that we saw across the globe in May and June was such a dark and challenging time for so many. I still struggle to find the words to truly articulate the affect the pandemic has had on me personally and the sparks of anxiety I still experience when I revisit how I felt or think about the future. It’s because of shoots like this though, that those sparks are easier to deal with. They are a sobering reminder that creativity, love, passion and spirit, despite everything we have been through, are still shining bright in the wedding industry. It has been incredible to witness suppliers and couples alike embracing the challenges of 2020 and moving past them by creating inspiration shoots like this or choosing to still get married despite the restrictions. We have even seen wedding suppliers starting up brand new exciting businesses as a result of Covid-19 – businesses that are making a profit and have given the owners a new lease of life.

Whatever 2020 still has in store for us all, we can get through it.

Mark talks us through this beautiful slice of wedding inspiration and the theme of freedom that was behind it…

Bohemian inspired weddings are everywhere at the minute and to me they really depict that feeling of freedom and almost give that 60’s Woodstock vibe which I hope we captured. The cane and wicker furniture, the staple Pampas grass, the gorgeous crochet style wedding dress from Shikoba Bride all scream Boho and our beautiful bride was just incredible to work with.

We went for a neutral and warm colour theme to really get with the vibe of the shoot.
