Happy Friday lovely people! We are almost there – the weekend is so very close and I for one can’t wait to close the laptop and switch off for a few days. What a week it has been! With both the US election and the on going political drama that has come with the pandemic, I am exhausted and definitely in need of a digital detox for a few days.
I hope you are all ok. The news of this latest lockdown has seemed to divide even the closest of friends in opinion so, whatever side you are sitting on, I hope you are all ok and finding some way to switch off from it all. Life is exhausting at the moment – utterly exhausting, so whatever your plans are this weekend make sure it includes some sort of self care and plenty of self love.
With that in mind, we have a bright, bold and beautiful wedding inspiration shoot to lift your wedding planning spirits today, inspired by late summer vibes, British designers and home grown British flowers.
Put together by the lovely Rose and Alice of The Native Florist, and featuring a stunning pink dip dyed wedding dress by Mia Sylvia, Flowers Blooming was inspired by the gorgeous seasonal blooms that Rose and Alice grow in their gardens at the end of Summer, as well as clean and contemporary decor and bridal style, with a focus on championing British designers. Rose and Alice explain…
This shoot was inspired by the flowers blooming on our growing patch in late summer. We are passionate about growing, and British flowers, and wanted to inspire couples to use them confidently, showcasing what could be made with them and the bold yet blended palettes you could create. In this case, blending oranges and pinks and in places using pops of mustard yellow and whites for contrast.
We love the bold and enriching tones and textures of the flowers used in this shoot, and how they work in perfect unison with the other styling elements. From the table setting to the Bride’s flower crown – they elevate and compliment the overall contemporary style perfectly and the colours look amazing.
Enjoy lovelies and have a great weekend.

The styling aimed to combine elements of clean and contemporary design while still feeling fun and natural. Gem Hicks has an eye for such shots while Harriet, of HCBrides, encapsulates chic and minimal hair and make up looks perfectly.
We were really lucky to have some other fantastic British designers come on board and their input really helped steer the over all look, adding a retro vibe with the jewellery from Bianca of Hyprnrml and pink dip dyed dress and textiles from Mia Sylvia.
All of this contrasted against the traditional grandeur of Coombe Lodge in Blagdon. Often venues in the UK are large houses and we wanted again to play with how these wedding venues can offer backdrops for unexpected styling.
The Line Up…
Concept & Flowers: Rose and Alice of The Native Florist; Dress & Textile Set Design: Mia Sylvia; Jewellery: Bianca of Hyprnrml; Hair and Make Up: Harriet of HCBrides; Venue: Coombe Lodge; Photography: Gem Hicks Photography; Model: Laura Alldred
