Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi, I’m Emma and I provide natural, storytelling wedding photography for free spirited couples. I’m not a ‘stoner’ but I am a real hippy – my credentials? They include working for Greenpeace, travelling around various parts of Asia with a backpack, hugging trees, reading beatnik poetry, eating lots of lentils and listening to too much music from the 1960’s. My speciality is muddy weddings and I particularly love festival weddings. My work is nature-inspired with a green ethos at the heart.

If you had the chance to go to any music festival, which one would it be and why?

Definitely Glastonbury Festival… it has a magic about it. I’ve been lucky enough to work as a photographer there a few times. The first year I had a top view from the pit of the Pyramid Stage which was amazing for capturing shots of the crowd as well as the bands.

Do you have a favourite festival wedding that you have photographed?

In 2017, I was lucky enough to photograph a wedding at Glastonbury Festival. This was top of my wedding bucket list and I loved every second! Gaia & Calum were handfasted in the tipi field and a crowd gathered to watch their wedding. I helped put them in touch with a local celebrant who did an amazing job on the day and also handed them a card from Micheal Eavis! Afterwards we had fun getting couple shots all around the festival.

What made you decide to go into wedding photography?

At the time I was working on the picture desk at Greenpeace and freelancing as a photographer for newspapers all over London. I wanted to do something a bit more creative and work for myself. I looked into it and found so many amazing alternative venues out there which I really vibed with. I started shooting weddings and loved the outdoorsy, handfasting weddings which were often very relaxed and creative.

My style is informal, relaxed & natural. I get on really well with my couples and many comment on how well I blend in on the day. A lot of my shots are documentary style. I do some posed too but we keep it very down to earth and I always look to capture the natural moments between my couples.

What do you love the most about capturing weddings?

The joy. It keeps you very upbeat being around happy people all the time!

Tell us about the different packages you offer?

Most couples go for the day package. This captures everything from prep to first dance and includes a free engagement shoot, which helps to break the ice. You get a client login gallery and a gorgeous colourful, bespoke wooden box with prints and USB.

If our readers were to book you for their wedding, what can they expect?

A specialist in all things festival-style. I’ve even shot a wedding at Glastonbury Festival which was one of my all time faves!

What’s is the best advice you can give when it comes to choosing a wedding photographer?

Choose someone you click with. You don’t want to feel awkward on your wedding day.

Finally, what’s your life quote/motto?

They danced down the streets like dingledodies, and I shambled after as I’ve been doing all my life after people who interest me, because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”
