Embrace The Rain Wedding Inspiration

Afternoon lovely people. How are you all? The world is a bit crazy right now isn’t it. I feel like we are all being challenged in so many ways and in such a short space of time. It is tough right now so I hope you are all ok.

Before we introduce you to today’s amazing styled inspiration wedding shoot, which I know you will all love, we wanted to acknowledge the Black Lives Matter movement and the work Festival Brides has been doing behind the scenes. Those of you that follow our social media accounts will already know that we are heavily invested in the movement and it is something we are extremely passionate about. Coming soon, we will be sharing an article which will fill you in on the work we have been doing, what we have learnt so far, our dedication to spreading more awareness and the resources you can tap into if you want to learn more. For us the movement isn’t just about ensuring Festival Brides is more diverse (although rest assured we are working really hard to improve our representation). It is about asking ourselves why the movement is happening, why I am personally only just waking up to the realisation that racism is rife in this country and what we can all do to bring about change. Just starting a conversation about racism is one of the most powerful things you as an individual can do and the article will hopefully give you the resources to start that conversation, should you wish to engage.

So onto today’s styled shoot and it is a good ‘un!!! We all know that the great British weather can be unpredictable at times. Look at the past month for example where we have gone from scorching temperatures to day after day of rain! Planning an outdoor wedding comes with a risk of bad weather. It is something that you have no control over and I know from planning my own wedding that the fear of bad weather becomes a bit of an obsession the closer your wedding date gets. However!!! Today’s shoot, put together by the brilliant Sam Bennett Photography, is all about embracing the rain, turning a negative into a positive and having lots of fun! Sam explains more…

If it’s going to rain on a wedding day.. it’s going to rain! The best thing you can do is embrace it, not let it worry you and enjoy the day! There’s nothing that can stop it and we wanted to highlight that in this shoot, we had a different brief and plan for this shoot originally, with it being an outdoors woodland wedding venue we wanted to show that off in all it’s glory but after seeing the forecast we took a slightly different approach. We wanted to give the message to ‘embrace the rain’.

With bohemian woodland vibes, a stunning couple (the groom in his green suit – damn!) and a bouquet that is making my heart sing, this is a shoot that I hope inspires you to not fear the rain, but instead embrace it.

Oh and in case you are wondering, it did rain on my wedding day. Lots! The heavens opened after the ceremony and all of the outdoor areas we had spent hours dressing the day before never got used. But do you know what? I didn’t care one bit because the moment I walked down the aisle and saw Bob waiting for me, all my anxieties about the weather melted away and I honestly didn’t give the rain another thought.
