Earthy Bohemian Wedding Ideas at Ponden Mill

Well the skies in the UK may be looking dark and dreary today but our pages certainly aren’t with not one, but two gorgeous styled wedding shoots to share with you all today. Both bohemian in style and both full of great decor and bridal ideas you can use to inspire you for your own wedding day.

First up is this beautiful delicate and earthy wedding shoot, put together by Kerry Lu Photography and Mave Weddings to help promote a brand new unique wedding venue in Yorkshire – Ponden Mill.

With a theme that combines vintage elements with modern bohemian style, Earthy & Delicate features a stunning dress from Rue De Seine Bridal, a campervan photo booth by Birdie Camperva n (a must have addition to any festival wedding) soft romantic blooms, a table setting that is full of luxe boho vibes and a small woodland lit up with fairy lights. We wanted to showcase the vintage boho theme throughout all of the styling and imagery but add hints of modern elements to appeal to the couples who don’t want head to toe macramé. We kept to a colour palette of earthy tones coupled with delicate florals in white and pink hues giving the decor and flowers a beautiful Autumnal feel.

There is a lot to love about this shoot, from the relaxed style of the bride and groom to the gorgeous neutral intimate reception setting. But the hero for us has to be the flowers by Forge Events. A member of our Festival Wedding Directory, the blooms they have created here are full of bohemian romance and tie everything together beautifully. We just love the hanging installations within the ceremony and reception areas – so very beautiful.

Earthy Tones & Delicate Florals…

Nestled away in the Yorkshire countryside lies the brand new venue Ponden Mill, opening in 2021, just waiting to be discovered for couples looking to create their perfect wedding day. It is an exclusive venue meaning couples can really let loose with family and friends and make the space their own.

A secluded location, Ponden Mill offers beautiful rustic interiors that are surrounded by countryside. Oh did we mention they supply the BEST food too?! The owners of this incredible venue also run the outside kitchen, so your guests will be wowed with what they have to offer.

This styled shoot relied on everything this venue had to offer and so a modern cool Boho theme was the order of the day. Mave Weddings was the stylist and kept to a colour palette of earthy tones coupled with delicate florals in white and pink hues. She was helped by the excellent Knock Knock Penny who created perfect stationery for the day.

Photography was by Kerry Lu who is a creative photographer who specialises in modern Boho luxe weddings. For couples who are looking for creativity in their images and for timeless memories to be captured.

To begin with the shoot needed a beautiful autumnal feel which was perfectly executed by Forge Events who is known for her autumnal floral displays, along with dried flowers and huge Installations. We wanted to create a table scape with earthy tones, delicate neutral floral and a bold hanging statement.

The dress was important for us as we wanted it to be bold, romantic yet in keeping with the boho vibe, and what better to use than the enchanting Rue De Seine, from the main Manchester stockist Jean Jackson Couture. Our Mediterranean model Loren complemented the dress perfectly with her olive skin and dark hair wearing modern pearl and gold earrings, and a wedding ring from Jessica Steel Jewellery. Hair was executed by the amazing Kelly Hanks Hair Design who made sure the sophisticated boho theme was held throughout the day, with relaxed makeup to compliment the bride and dress by The Beauty Quarters.

Who can say they got married if they didn’t have a photo booth! Birdie Photobooth’s pastel pinks (Pixie) looked amazing against the old mills brickwork, we styled her with wicker chairs, rugs, florals & little gems and antiques picked up along both Mave weddings stylists & Kitty’s Journey!

At sunset we head across to the outdoor area where Love Lights The Way had encapsulated a first dance area draped with fairy lights and hanging festoon lighting. This super romantic setting, nestled within the trees, makes for the perfect end to any day, never mind a wedding! With the Yorkshire countryside as a backdrop from every angle, the tones of the countryside tied in with the styling, dress and colour palette throughout.
