Ladies and Gents are you in for a treat this afternoon! Back in November 2018, a bunch of incredibly talented wedding suppliers met at The Ruin Venue in Joshua Tree, California to take part in an incredible styled wedding shoot put together as part of the Wild Ones Community. An organisation that hosts a series of workshops for photographers in some of the worlds most beautiful wedding venues.

Joshua Tree was the biggest Wild Ones workshop to date with an impressive line up of 10 models and an amazing team of wedding creatives such as Fawn Events, Best Day Ever Floral, Rue De Seine, Opal Milk and Three On The Tree to name but a few. The shoot ran for 2 days with photographers attending from around the world to capture the vast desert landscape, beautiful ‘desert boho’ decor and the gorgeous models, many of which were real life couples.

Today, we are delighted to share with you the highlights of those two days, captured by Wild Ones founder, Nicola Dixon Photography. Her images capture the vibe of the shoot so beautifully and will leave you dreaming of pale pink and peach flowers, bridal crowns, sunsets and cocktails. Oh and make sure you check out the film of the shoot by The Quail & The Dove because it is awesome.

Enjoy this one peeps – it’s most definitely a shoot for your Pinterest boards!

Wild Ones Workshops…..

Words By Nicola Dixon

Wild Ones began in October 2016 and over the past two years we have organised close to 30 workshops all over the world. With over 1000 people now in the Facebook group it has become a supportive community that we feel really proud to have created. We host photography workshops for photographers to build their portfolio, develop skill and grow in confidence. With a focus on the wild and adventure- magical and boho! One of the hardest things as a photographer is having awesome, consistent content to share, and content that helps you attract your dream couples. Becoming a destination wedding photographer isn’t easy and it isnt’ enough to write ‘available worldwide’ on your insta bio. You need to create the content in order to attract the weddings and clients that you want. I love organising and building relationships with wedding creatives across the world to help me better serve my clients when they need help and advice on suppliers.

An Incredible Vision….

Joshua Tree was undoubtedly the biggest workshop to date, with so many elements to organise. I couldn’t have created such a special shoot had it not been for Laura of Fawn Events. Her vision for the styling and her organisation were one of the best I’ve ever worked with. So much so we
have two more shoots lined up together this April – Acre Baja in Mexico and Wolf Feather Honey Farm in California.

Shooting In The Desert….

Ever since I saw The Ruin Venue on instagram I knew I wanted to create something there. The vast desert behind the ‘ruins’ makes it a blank canvas for a stylist and a photographers dream. I reached out to Laura and she said yes, her knowledge of the venue and relationships with creatives locally meant she quickly pieced together a dream team. She introduced me to Annie of Best Ever Day Floral, whose work is dreamy. Nudes/rose golds and mauve looked so perfect in the desert. I will never tire of shooting Rue De Seine dresses, perfect for a desert wedding.

Wild Ones will be offering more incredible workshops, just like this one, throughout 2019 with the next ones being in Mexico, America and Barcelona. If you are a photographer and would like to attend, visit the Wild Ones website for all of the details (link in the line up below.) Oh and if you sign up to Barcelona, we will be there covering the workshop live on our Instagram, so we shall see you there!!
