We have something beautifully different to share with you all today. A gorgeous dark and decadent shoot, inspired by the music of Depeche Mode and created as a declaration of love to modern Gothic wedding inspiration.

Put together by photographer Miss Buffet Froid, whose gorgeous images are most definitely the hero of this feature, the shoot mixes Gothic and contemporary wedding ideas with themes and trends that Miss Buffet Froid is inspired by, such us bold bridal fashion, graphic design and the desire to get off the beaten wedding track and do something different.

As well as the stunning photography, which instantly grabbed my attention the moment I first laid eyes on these images (some of the model shots are just amazing), I also really love the decor with is subtle nods of appreciation to Tim Burton and Alice in Wonderland. The curiosity table is genius and so clever. All of the designs on the glass bottles are created by Rachel Weasel Fisher and have been cut from paper and stuck to the inside of the glass. They work so well with the overall dark gothic ‘Burtonesque’ theme and certainly adds an interesting element to a table of food!

Miss Buffet Froid talks us through her ideas for the shoot, the location and the incredible suppliers involved.

Modern Gothic….

As a photographer, I wanted for a very long time to create a shooting of inspiration wedding, which would be a real declaration of love to Modern and assumed Gothic persons.

I wanted fashion, boldness, graphics, while mixing different influences and themes which I like. I like getting off the beaten track and do some stuff counter current.

Contemporary Curiosity…

I chose at first our location, The ENCLOS DE LA CROIX, because it was an obvious fact. I was fascinated at once by his graphic contemporary, and also, its very committed side for the biodiversity. I like that we can make some good French wine, while working by respecting the nature!

I got closer to several professionals and together we built this project.
Nicolas in hairstyle built wreaths for a contemporary Madonna. Teva worked on a very rock makeup look. Miss Deph made hyper graphic nails. Rachel who makes some pretty amazing paper cut creations, worked closely with Rebecca the Chief, to make a buffet as a curiosity cabinet. For the decor, it is the couple of BOTANIQUE ET VIEILLES DENTELLES that worked by making a table where this branch floats in the air. A magic and aerial side.

Esotheric Pictures…

The wedding stationery is inspired by esotheric pictures, a mix between graphics lines and strange atmosphere.

This shoot is a nod to Depeche Mode, because every Gothic who respects at least in his discography a Depeche fashion album.
