Afternoon lovely people. I hope you are all ok and managed to have a nice weekend despite the lock down. We took to the fields and woodland near our house each day for some escapism with the children and it was just what we all needed. Today though I am really battling with that constant underlying feeling of dread and anxiety in the pit of my stomach and I just can’t shake it off. I am sure some of you know exactly what I mean. The intensity of it comes and goes but the feeling is always there. I think escaping to the woods once more today might be on the cards!

Talking of escapism, we have the perfect wedding to share with you all today that will have you dreaming of destination weddings in beautiful cities whilst soaking up the sunshine and immersing yourself in another culture. Something that I am praying with every inch of my soul that we can all do again soon.

Captured by Iva and Vedran Weddings, in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik Croatia, Chris and Yoko’s wedding is a wonderful fusion of bohemian luxe decor, elegant and modern bridal styling and a classical ceremony setting, all brought together by a lavender and pink colour theme. The flower inspiration in their wedding is plentiful with a stunning ceremony display that includes white drapes with climbing foliage and a beautiful top table which most certainly elevates the bohemian luxe romantic theme even further.

Chris and Yoko talk us through their wedding and how their amazing planner, Dukata Events helped make it happen.

A Chateau, A Michelin Starred Meal and One Question…

We spent a fantastic weekend together in a romantic chateau in Epernay. After a full day exploring the old champagne houses, and soaking in the atmosphere of the French countryside, we settled down for an amazing meal at a Michelin star restaurant. We decided to walk back to the chateau and once the timing was right, I popped the question…and she said yes!

A Classical Feel with a hint of Lavender…

Our ceremony venue was in Dubrovnik, Croatia at The Sponza Palace followed by dinner at Neptune Hotel. We had a lot of help from our wedding planner, who was amazing from start to end. We wanted something less traditional, but with a classical feel about it. Sponza palace and the charm of the old town were just the perfect combination for our big day. We wanted the reception to be held close to the beach, so Neptune was ideally located and the sunset was phenomenal. We also really wanted a destination wedding, somewhere in between our home countries. Highly recommend visiting Dubrovnik!

For our wedding theme, we wanted lots of floral décor, with a hint of lavender throughout. We gave our planner a lot of room to work with and she did not disappoint.

A Symbolic Ceremony…

We had a symbolic ceremony with a live violin and trombone. Viva le veda played as we held each other and walked back down the isle to meet our family and friends.

Favourite Moment…

Watching Yoko walk down the isle really took my breathe away. She was absolutely stunning! The boat ride from the ceremony to the reception was also incredible.

Any Advice?

Invest in your big day, in every sense of the word, and the memories will stay with you for the rest of your days.
