I have been so looking forward to sharing this beautiful real wedding with you all today. Submitted by the lovely Bride Carolina, it has been sent all the way from Brazil – a country that is so dear to my heart as it is where Mr D and I spent 3 weeks travelling as part of our honeymoon. With a romantic bohemian theme, a gorgeous soft colour palette of dusty blue, light pink and green, and stunning fine art photography, it is a dream to look at and admire. We love the flowers which are simply stunning (look out for the reception table and the gorgeous ceremony arches) as well as the awe-inspiring mountainous views of their venue, Fazenda Brisa do Mar in Florianópolis.
Carolina and Carlos were in the throws of planning the last stages of their wedding when the pandemic hit Brazil. It became clear that they would not be able to go ahead with their original plans for a big wedding with 200 guests so, with less than 6 months to go, they decided to organise a small micro-wedding instead which meant they had to change everything, including their venue. After the initial heartache of letting go of the big wedding they had planned, they pulled everything together and the result is the most wonderful and romantic day, filled with love and plenty of smiles.
When asked what was their favourite moment, Carolina said…
It was the ceremony, while we were saying our vows. I was looking at the beautiful scenery, hearing and saying those beautiful words knowing that I couldn’t have asked for a better groom or a better day to get married.

A Horse Ride, A Beach and A Surprise Proposal…
We were living in different cities at the time, due to Carlos’ work, so he surprised me showing up unannounced while I was in the middle of a horse ride at the beach with my best friend (which I would find out later that was especially scheduled for the proposal to happen).
From Big, To Small…
So after that big proposal, we spent 1 year and a half engaged, living a 1000 km from each other. I was taking care of almost everything regarding our party and he was planning our honeymoon. Everything was okay until the pandemic hit Brazil. At first I wasn’t scared because we still had 6 months until the wedding, but as it got closer, we realised it would be impossible to stick to our original plan, so we had to change almost everything. First thing we changed was our Venue. We originally would have had our party near the beach with 200 guests, but the place wouldn’t allow our micro wedding (even being just family and closest friends), so we changed to a beautiful venue in the countryside where it would be safe to have our guests. Then I decided I wanted to have the wedding starting in the morning so we could have the whole day to celebrate, after that I had to decide for a new menu, different Décor and everything that follows.
A Dress Made With Love…
My dress was made by one of my best friends and bridesmaids Bruna Mustefaga Atelier. She literally made a dress out of my personality. It was just the perfect fit for me, and the crazy thing is, she lives 2000 km from me so we only had 2 fittings, but I guess it was meant to be because it was already perfect in the first fitting!
My hair accessory was made by Carina from a gente que faz decor and my veil was the same veil my best friend (the one that made my dress) wore on her own wedding.
A Romantic Boho Party…
Our venue was Fazenda Brisa do Mar – Florianópolis in Brazil. I found it through my wedding planner, we chose it because we really love to be near nature.
Our main inspiration came from Pinterest searching and from our décor and floral designer. She is such a great creator and she helped us understand our style. I would describe it as a romantic boho wedding.
Our décor was entirely made by a gente que faz decor. They literally transformed the space into a beautiful romantic boho party. She was the one who chose the flowers based on my references. I wanted dusty blue, light pink and green and she just found the perfect flowers.
We had a traditional Christian ceremony. Our décor was handmade by a gente que faz decor. The music was played beautifully by Appassionato Música e Arte and sang by one of my bridesmaid’s Cecilia Cassimiro and one of the groomsman, Pedro Fernandes
Phenomenal Photography…
Our photographer was Sanches Fotografia. They were absolutely phenomenal. I honestly can’t say how much their pictures make me emotional, they captured our perfect day in a beautiful way.
Pasta, Salads, Cakes & Coffee…
Our food was supplied by Supreme Gastronomia. We had mini penne with funghi and ragu for appetizers, then we had a buffet serving salad, Mignon, fish and conchiglione. After we had an afternoon meal serving all kinds of cheese, a salad bar and different kinds of cakes We also had a coffee bar.

Any Advice?
I would advise people to be calm and know that the most important thing you’ve got to have is love. Everything else can go wrong, but the most precious thing is what you and your groom share and what that day will mean in your lives.
