Today’s styled shoot is right up our bohemian wedding streets. We love it – all of it! The cool relaxed styling of the brides and grooms; the decor that has been inspired by the Australian bohemian luxe trend that we are all obsessing over (well us definitely); the gorgeous dried flowers used through out; and of course the amazing colour palette of burnt oranges and dusty yellows with just a hint of blue and grey.
Organised by the Award Winning Francesca Hill Photography for her Oh So Wild marketing and social media workshop, today’s shoot features images from two photographers, Francesca and Nataly J Photography. They are captured at The Barn At Drovers, a brand new outdoor wedding venue that has both a rustic and industrial vibe. It also comes with safari tent glamping accommodation and barn cottages.

Instagram Unveiled…
Oh SO Wild is a brand new workshop series for Creative Wedding Suppliers looking to take their marketing and social media content to the next level. The aim of the Workshop is to connect like-minded suppliers, provide an opportunity for suppliers to build their dream portfolio, enhance online presence through a collaborative Instagram marketing strategy and most importantly, to give everyone the opportunity to GO WILD with their creativity and enjoy a fabulous day!
As a predominantly visual platform, it’s no secret that Instagram is a hub of inspirational content for both wedding suppliers and those creative brides we all aspire to book. One of the biggest challenges for us as businesses is having that innovative / inspirational content to share in order to attract our target clients. After a hugely successful Industrial Styled Shoot at Paintworks back in March, I decided I wanted to launch a Portfolio building Workshop for other photographers and suppliers which would feature three couples and three completely different styles. Multiple ‘sets’ were made up around the venue and photographers rotated between each set / couple. We’ve all been on workshops where you’re expected to queue behind twenty other photographers and you have little time to actually get creative. I was very conscious of not wanting to do this and having multiple couples and styles allowed for the photographers to be divided up into smaller groups. I also wanted to make sure that all attendees understood what an absolutely amazing marketing opportunity something like this is for a small business so we kicked off the day with ‘Instagram Unveiled’, a mini strategy session on how to maximise the benefits of working with multiple suppliers.’
Australian Influence…
Coming up with the initial themes was a collaborative effort between myself, Toni and Michelle from Peverley Perfection. After a site recce, I knew how many spaces I had to work with and how many set ups could be created within the venue and opted to use one of the barns (which features an amazing wooden wall) for an indoor table set up / couple set up and I wanted to create a luxe boho outdoor setup for later on in the afternoon when the light dropped.
The Boho theme definitely had an Australian influence, the aim was for the styling to appear effortless and casual even though it was heavily planned out! Peacock chairs, colourful carpets, grazing platters, pampas, dried flowers, burnt oranges / nudes and Rue De Seine bridal were the starting point for the styling. Once I’d managed to source two amazing Rue De Seine Bridal dresses from The Wedding Club in Birmingham, we were able to plan a look around the style of the dresses which were extremely bohemian in style. As someone who spends hours on Instagram every day, I’m a massive fan of all things boho anyway and I absolutely adore the current colour palette of burnt oranges and yellows and muted blues and greys. We incorporated this into the indoor table set up with a runner in each colour and gorgeous dried flowers from Bohotanical.
Burnt Orange, Yellow and Blue….
The outdoor set up was mostly inspired by a wander round Homesense where burnt oranges, yellows and blues are the order of the day as well as multiple pinterest boards featuring luxurious picnic style setups! Michelle did an amazing job of pulling everything together and the outdoor setup looked all kinds of awesome. We actually made the tables ourselves by upcycling a cable drum and teaming the round tops with some wicker baskets from Homesense and it worked brilliantly with the relaxed picnic vibe we had in mind. I was then lucky enough to have photographed a wedding the week before the workshop where the groom had hand made wooden tipi structures for the wedding. Amazing couple that they are, they allowed me to turn up with a van and borrow a few bits and bobs to finish off the look!
Boho Looks, Dried Flowers and Pampas…
For the models, Amanda and Will were a last minute addition and Toni and Jo from Papas Tailoring worked together to create a casual look for Will and a relaxed bohemian look for Amanda. Toni and Amanda then swapped dresses for the afternoon and Lewis rocked an amazing bohemian shirt with ripped jeans and bare feet for the outdoor setup.
As the boho look was heavily inspired by dried flowers and pampas grass, Gwenda from Bohotanical made up an amazing bouquet and flower crown which I think completely stole the show, they were just stunning! Liley Studio also put in some fabulous hair accessories which worked so well with the style of the dress.
An Organic Farm…

We are really excited to be launching our Uber cool wedding venue on our organic farm, so when Fran contacted us to ask if we would like to host her new photography workshop, we jumped at the opportunity. We knew from past workshops Fran would ensure it was epic and we were confident that Drovers, with it’s rustic spaces and industrial cool vibe, would be the perfect venue for the plans she had.
As we are very much like the Black sheep that dot our Farm and the cheeky sheep in our logo, we do love to buck the status quo! My husband and I have a passion for diversity in all things, from people, animals, culture, food, ideas, to our ways of thinking. Drovers as a venue strongly mirrors this ethos so the multiples themes and LGBT element of the shoot was right up our street.
As we have two barns and a variety of outdoor spaces, Fran and the team were able to create some spectacular settings indoors and outdoors, all with a very different look and feel.
All in all, we loved the shoot, the workshop and the gorgeous photos that the very talented photographers took. We have plenty of content to use on our social media and website to show people the type of weddings we’d love to host and the images are a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the look and feel of our venue to prospective brides.

During the preparations for the Workshop, it was quite difficult to envisage how everything would work, particularly as the forecast was rain which could have completely derailed everything we had planned for outside. Luckily, the rain had dried off by the afternoon and we were able to achieve everything we had planned. The feedback from all the suppliers involved has been amazing and the images from everyone are phenomenal. Literally cannot wait to get started on planning the next one!
