Oh do we have a treat for your eyes this afternoon lovely people! A bright and beautiful styled shoot captured by Sam Bennett Photography + Film at Huntsmill Farm, a wedding venue that we are so proud to say is a member of our Festival Wedding Directory.
With everything going on in the world, this shoot couldn’t have come at a better time for me. The gorgeous smiles from the couple have completely uplifted my day, as has the bohemian eclectic styling of the table decor (love the coloured glasses and hand dyed napkins), the vibrant pink and red colourways within the flowers and that INCREDIBLE teal cake with iced coloured flowers. It comes with simple yet effective ideas for your wedding decor, encourages upcycling and recycling of props and features styling inspiration for both brides and grooms. I am also reveling in the fact that the bride wears both a flower crown and a pink wig in her two boho wedding looks.
Henry and Ruth, owners of Hunstmill Farm and the creative minds behind the concept and styling of the shoot, share with us their ideas, their focus on sustainability and the suppliers who helped make it happen.
Enjoy lovely people – this is a gorgeous shoot.
Bright, Bold & Sustainable…
The vision behind the shoot was to create colourful looks, steering away from playing it safe. Sustainable factors were key within the vision both on the macrame elements and tablescape. We wanted to create wedding inspiration that was both fun and eco friendly. We added second hand props and decor to the shoot including chairs/ cushions etc to complete the sustainable theme. We wanted to emphasise the importance of up cycling and recycling things in this huge industry.
The basis of the shoot was outside, for the ceremony and an intimate picnic style tablescape. Inside the barn showed a more elaborate alternative to dining highlighting the stone walls of the barn.
The first bridal look showed a more subtle look with bold pop of colour within the flower crown and bouquet created by Sorcha Herbert flowers. The floristry magic complimented the boho style dress by Lisa Lyons Bridal. The outside Macrame backdrop was created using natural cord and was brightened up with foliage and bold flowers. The groom, styled by the vintage suit hire company, has pops of colour both in the orange tie and pocket square.
The inside tablescape showed bold elements, the glassware colourful and unmatched, the lemon name holders and the tie dye napkins all created the bold vision and the ironstone crockery aided the sustainable factors.
The second bridal look shows a more relaxed bridalwear and the incredible pink wig, styled by Niki makeup. Again the pink wig gave an alternative colourful look and definitely showed this shoot was not about playing it safe.
