Most Curious Wedding Fair is notorious for setting new trends in the wedding industry and it sounds like this year is going to be no exception. The theme sounds epic and we can’t wait to see it in fruition.

Inside The Styling of Most Curious 2022
Every year Most Curious has a styling theme, from Millennial Pink to Florality and Patternity, we always try and give the show an aesthetic that is a reflection of current or upcoming trends in the world of fashion and design, and how that can translate into your wedding.
This year we’re having a BLOCK PARTY. So, colour blocking for the win! Tones appear together, the palette is striped back and ordered, perhaps groupings of a single colour or several sections of colour side by side. Whether this is the florals, backdrops, table linens, decor, even food and outfits, having a little colour order is an easy and impactful way to achieve a curated look. So obvs we’ll be going for this to the Nth degree!
The Inspiration…
You can get a little feel of the palette and overall vibe with a sneak into our mood board. Yes, yes, that is that Joker.. that talk show curtains scene in an informative one for the look! We told you our inspirations come from wherever they happen to be!
The Team…
The babes helping us achieve this are the legends Boomting Bunting who have been part of our show styling team since 2018 and we always get each other’s vibe. These large scale decor installation specialists, who are also a Most Curious sponsor, are always up for being wild with us and always deliver a physical version of what’s in our mind and beyond! We thoroughly recommend them, especially if you have a large blank canvas space.
A new and thrilling team up this year is with the fantastic Kuit Flowers. A super cool botanical artistry studio based in Shoreditch and also in Sydney Australia, where their original roots lie.
Jake and his brand Kuit are set to take off in the big time, having been selected to feature on a Prime TV show coming out the month of the show – we’ve said too much!
Jake described himself to us as ‘the weirdest person I will ever meet. But in a good way.’
Hellooooo styling team! So yes, await colour blocked floral mayhem, something conceptual and unexpected from these installation specialists, we can’t wait!
These two will team up to floralise and drape the catwalk area to create a feeling of stepping into your own colour blocked world where the fashion happenings can take place!
Talking of the fashion happenings. We are forever indebted to Luke Reene our show stylist from 2017 to 2020 – who is having to take a year out this year. It is him who has always championed diversity on our runways long before we were intentionally onboard, in more than a ‘yeah sure that would be nice’ kind of way. His vision has pushed the name of Most Curious as a fashion led event and we hope this year we can keep the flag flying and then some, this year.
So for 2022 we can announce a very exciting fresh and fabulous fashion show team, this will be headed up by Laurel Hunter stylist. She will be taking care of the vision of the looks with an expert eye that has seen her work published in 7 Hues, RoidX, Tribu-te and Black Beauty magazine, as well as for many music videos and various fashion week shows.
She is joined, on Luke’s recommendation we must add, by Melinda Grant hair and make up team. A session make up artist who has worked on many London Fashion Week shows and is whole heartedly on board with our themes and approaches of embracing diverse looks, tailoring her looks to each model specifically and un-gendering fashion in our 2022 shows. She is working with Milk makeup, Moroccan Oil and Boucleme as hair and make up sponsors.
Inclusivity…
There will be one special installation that will appear just as you enter the show – which will hopefully set the tone for the varied and open approach to the Most Curious’ style-savvy aesthetic and how welcoming and celebrating it will be from the get go.
Much emphasis has been put on the inclusive factor of the show this year, through a collaboration with the MC Coalition, informing us on what constitutes a safe and joyful space for as many people as possible, including the LGBTQIA+ , Non-Binary, Black and brown, Disabled and Neurodivergent communities. We have tried to ensure there is inclusion for all those communities within the space, but when planning this first installation, I (founder Becky) stopped for a sec and thought it was a long overdue time for a love letter to the part of my identity I’ve neglected at Most Curious. The ESEA (East and South East Asian) side. For me specifically the Malaysian Chinese half of me!
So here we will have our usual inspiring and conceptual table-scape, but it’s gaze will be centring ESEA communities. Perhaps for those planning a wedding with this identity or interracial couples who have an ESEA element to their story.
We’re excited to ask show sponsor stylist and master planner Pink Palms to help us on this, as, although she herself is white she is part of a Chinese family. Her husband is British Born Chinese, and giving representation and pride for someone like her own daughter’s nuanced identity and heritage in the wedding world is something she also feels is long over due.
I am more than happy to provide a space that I did not feel present in the wedding world when planning my wedding. I’m just sorry it took me so long!
If I can be part of cultivating the inclusion of that narrative, so that maybe when Little Miss Pink Palms comes to plan hers, seeing her half her heritage represented maybe be much more the norm.
Together, we are planning a space that showcases some of the coolest ESEA suppliers in the UK. Amalina Bakes for the cake, who originally hails from Brunei, and paper goods on the table will be by part-Vietnemese brand Luna & Sol. We will also have a florist super group of Alright Petal for the florals, also British Malaysian Chinese, alongside two amazing UK-Based Korean floral artists Yinari and Studio KKot.
Sticking with the colour blocking theme, but be sure there will be red tones involved, showing that variety and less one dimensional approach of what a wedding can look like. In many East Asian cultures red is the luckiest and most auspicious colour for such a celebration and in fact white is traditionally associated with funerals!
The VIP’s…
One last sneak peek for you is our VIP entrance. Again informed by our coalition members, specifically Kathryn PS Celebrant, this will stand for Very Inclusive Pathway! One issue flagged with our venue is the fact it is on the first floor and the lift is in a different part of the building. For this reason we have enlisted the styling prowess of Whole Lotta Love Weddings to lead the way on elevating (heh heh) the lift entrance to a much more glamorous, inclusive and equally design-led way to arrive at the wedding show. Whole Lotta Love as the name suggests specialises in retro rocking vibes and she will also be teaming up with fellow exhibitor Streamadelica to execute the plan .. we’ve said to much!
Neuro-Diverse Spaces…
Another excellent piece of advice from the Coalition team, particularly Sophie Colligan Celebrants, was the addition of a break out space that would be a quiet zone for Neuro-diverse visitors, children of visitors, exhibitors or staff members, an essential place to take some time away from potential overwhelm. Our own team member Gabrielle, who her self identifies as ADHD, will work on this with fantastic exhibitor Carmella Weddings to make sure its an inviting and appropriate space. Carmella Founder Tichea was recently diagnosed ADHD and will be leading the styling. We will ensure comfy seating and Wifi if people want to decompress and escape with a screen for a bit. We have even consulted with our sponsors Laura from Festival Brides and Erin from Way Out Wedding, as it’s something close to both their hearts. Laura’s son is currently waiting an assessment for Autism and ADHD and through this process has become to realise that she too has many Neuro-diverse qualities. Having an intentional space at the wedding fair for Neuro diverse visitors is so important and she has realised this more than ever through visiting public spaces with her son.
