Autumn Wedding Ideas in Rust & Olive Green

If ever there was a shoot to lift our locked down souls and spirits, then this would have to be it! Not only is it inspired by the gorgeously rich tones and textures of Autumn, and comes with ideas for both your indoor and outdoor spaces, it also features an absolutely stunning bride with the most contagious smile. A smile that is guaranteed to have you smiling right back each and every time you see it.

Put together by BelleBijoux Events and captured at White Hall Estate by Go Photo by Victoria Benge, Autumnal Riches comes with everything you would expect from a shoot inspired by Autumn. It has the warmth of rich earthy colours (think hues of rust and green), decor full of texture (especially within the flowers which, I might add, are an absolute triumph) and seasonal food and spiced drinks. It comes with inspiration for your ceremony area, your reception space, your dessert table, bar (look out for the neon sign), stationery and, of course, gorgeous styling ideas for Autumnal brides. We love it and we have no doubt you are all going to too!

Whitehall Estate is a family run local business. It is a historical building set in vast acres of woodland. Megan and Lucy of BelleBijoux Events had previously worked at the venue before but knew we wanted to take advantage of the restored main building and the picturesque surroundings.

We created an autumnal vibe shoot, that went with the time of year and Whitehall was just the perfect match. The venue is luxurious but with rustic charms and we knew we wanted to bring out these characters.

We first approached Cakes by Leni, Vicky from Go Photo and the florist Vicki Johnston and it all just came together with us all bouncing ideas around. We all agreed rust and rich tones were needed with the heavy florals and green hues being the key features. Hence the name “Autumnal Riches”.

Lucy and Megan from BelleBijoux started pinning ideas and exploring colour pallets. We wanted to illustrate to couples that it’s ok to use an array of colour and still create something eye catching and luxe. We also wanted this shoot to be a ‘sellable’ approach and we knew exactly which suppliers would embrace our vison.

Our main colours were rusty hues and a deep olive green. We wanted to keep the theme classic but with a modern twist and we weren’t afraid to mix colours and materials.

The Suppliers…

The majority of our suppliers involved are all local to the area. Vicky Benge was both Lucy and Megan’s own wedding photographer from their wedding’s and just adore Vicky’s passion for getting ‘the shot.’ Her natural images and detail are what sets her apart.

Jonny the videographer we have worked with a few times and he has so much energy and captures the moments in real time, making his filming a true reflection of the day itself.

Polka Dot paper is a stationery icon, whom we have so much admiration for. Her work oozes style and sophistication and we were so lucky to have her on board. She created all the stationery to match the theme consisting of bar and menu cards, place names as well as an amazing table plan board which we styled up to the hilt surrounding it by florals. Our whole aim was fluidity throughout.

Victoria, from Vicky Johnston Flowers, is one amazing florist. Her flowers are so powerful in design. We literally gave her a concept and let her roll with it, and her florals really made the whole shoot come together. The tones and textures were something we’d never seen or worked with before. Big and bold, they were displayed so intricately but with an effortless approach.

We wanted a focal point and us creating a statement backdrop for altar décor was the main piece. We brought in rust heavy draping upon our copper arbour. Leni had found an old door frame and painted this dark green, so we placed this behind and just kept adding masses of florals and it just worked. This was then used to display Leni’s cake.

Cakes by Leni is a local supplier to us. The four-tiered cake sat upon a stunning Bramblesky unique cake stand which was custom sprayed to compliment the cake. Our copper candle ware with coloured pillar candles, copper lanterns and Vicky’s beautiful blooms, set for a striking display.

Cakes by Leni also supplied the stunning sweet table on an old rustic dresser, which we agreed should be set up underneath one of Whitehall estates stunning oak trees. Treats were so on point with chocolate apples, macaroons and donuts amongst the delicious treats.

Treats, That Smile and Team Work…

Whitehall Estates own tearooms created a stunning grazing board which sat pride of place on the top table. The colours of the food really complimented the styling and they nailed the brief.

Charlotte from Piano Bar Events created striking seasonal cocktails which looked exquisite. They brought along their new wooden bar which we were able to style with our neon and create a fun evening element.

So, once we found the colour palette and mix of materials, we scoured out local dress suppliers for supplying some lush dresses to suit our model. We called upon Hollie at Elite Bridal to supply a range of gowns. Hollie is such a talent; Elite specialise in making and designing all their own dresses. So, the designs are totally unique to the shoot.

Suda was an existing client of makeup artist LMW beauty. Libby is young and fresh with great creative ideas. Libby created a natural dewy glow that enhanced Suda’s natural beauty. Suda has a smile that can light up any room, so the makeup was all about the eyes keeping the lips more natural to see that stunning smile shine through.

Amiee Grant has specialised in Afro Caribbean hair so she knew exactly how to work Suda’s Hair, using Amore’s’ handmade headwear to sit perfectly amongst it. Libby and Suda worked the dream of making Suda Shine.

The Shoot went better then we could ever envision. The aim of our shoots is to make it a huge team effort and this was no exception. We all worked together, helping each other and listening to any guidance that may help us make this shoot AMAZING. We had such a laugh all day. All the hard work, effort and time we all put in to create it was so worth it. We would love to do it all over again.

Corona hit us hard, but we turned the negative into a positive and embraced the challenge of creating content. With no Weddings to focus on, it gave us drive and much needed visions. We’ve worked with some amazing teams and love collaborating, embracing the ‘collaboration over competition’ ethos. We’ve found out support is everything in this industry and there has been truck loads out there for us all.
