Anyone planning an outdoor bohemian woodland wedding? If your answer is yes then this shoot is going to be right up your street! From the relaxed boho styling of the beautiful bride (complete with two looks) and handsome groom, to the INCREDIBLE floral wedding cake by Neviepie, with it’s hand painted design and sugar iced flowers – as the title suggests it is a woodland wedding dream and we haven’t even mentioned the intimate alfresco reception setting tucked away in a glade in all it’s pale pink and duck egg blue glory.

Put together and captured by Sam Bennett Photography, A Woodland Dream took place at Hothorpe Hall + The Woodlands in Leicestershire and features the work of wedding stylist Princess Occasions and florist Rockabilly Rose The Florist. Together they have juxtaposed vintage furniture and 70’s inspired country linens and crockery with wild and bohemian florals, botanicals and greenery – all set up in the woods. The muted colour palette of pink and duck egg blue works so well with the natural green of the leaves and brown of the trees. We love how these colours are also represented in the mismatched table chairs and vintage dresser used to display that amazing cake which comes with a richer colour palette of orange, pink and green. Just look at how the colours on the cake pop against the green of the ferns and trees in the image below – we love!

A Woodland Dream…

Words by Sam Bennett Photography

The vision of this shoot was to create dreamy woodland wedding inspiration for this woodland venue.

The venue is Hothorpe + The woodlands, one of my favourite venues in the country. It boasts a gorgeous hall for indoor weddings, just next to the most gorgeous view of the local fields. But the real eyecatcher for me is the woodlands down below, used as a second venue, the ceremony and reception is in this part of the venue as well as
accommodation which includes a treehouse for the couple on the wedding night!

Inspired by some 70s styling and some wild and bohemian set ups and florals, we went all outdoors for this shoot with a table set up in the woods and a chill out area close too. We used a old fashioned dresser stuffed with greenery to fit into the surroundings. We wanted all elements to be in the woods to show that these weddings can be in the UK, despite the unreliable weather! Luckily, the gorgeous venue features an inside reception area with a
bar and dancefloor for plan B or for reception.

With it being an outdoors and woodland wedding, we showcased two different styles of dresses and beauty, an up-do with the gorgeous dress, then the cool jumpsuit with hair down!
