If you are finding yourselves, like me, daydreaming of the day you and your partner can escape to somewhere other than your home, place of work or local park, then you are going to love this shoot. It is raw, romantic, intimate, embraces natural beauty and is teasing us with it’s dreamy escapism. As if that wasn’t enough, it also comes with engagement (and honeymoon) ideas with a staged proposal at the end over a candle lit alfresco picnic. Take me there now please!!!

Captured within a gorgeous wild woodland in Tuscany, A Natural Proposal was put together by event designer and destination wedding planner Giulia Alessandri and features real life couple Sara Casarin and artist Simafra. After spending the night in a glamping bell tent overlooking the mesmirsing Tuscany countryside, Sara spent the morning foraging for food whilst Simafra worked on his artwork. The suppliers involved then prepared the bell tent for a relaxed intimate buffet complete with a grazing style picnic, woven bohemian lanterns, candle light and soft furnishings in warming autumnal colours. Sara and Simafra changed into more formal clothing (look out for Simafra’s emerald green suit and floral shirt – love the colour and love the vibe) and settled into some twilight couple portraits with photographer Lenny Pellico. The whole day looks like it was a complete dream and what an incredible place for a proposal. We love it!

Giulia Alessandri shares with us more details on this wonderful shoot.

A Natural Proposal…

This proposal was designed for two people who love nature. The idea was to let both of them to spend a day in contact with nature and its wonders.

The glamping tent, where they slept and stayed, near the wonderful Vallombrosa forest, was transformed for the evening into a magical place where he, a contemporary artist, asked her to marry him. After waking up in the glamping tent, they spent the day in the nearby woods immersed in beautiful Tuscany.

A wonderful autumn day was the setting. He carved and worked the wood to create a wonderful memory of that wonderful day. She collected flowers and vegetables thinking she could use them that same evening (not being aware of the wonderful surprise that awaited her).

Together they laughed, they loved each other like never before because places like this purify your soul and make you humble in the face of the grandeur of mother nature.

Today it was just him and her. And that day was going to be special. He knew it.

Back to the tent, everything had been thought out in great detail. A wonderful dress was waiting for her to be put on and he couldn’t wait to show her the surprise, that surprise that is forever.

The idea for this shooting was to take a cue from nature, to adapt to her. We used a low table, no chair but lots of cushions that could accommodate them and their hugs. The dinner was designed with cheeses, fruit and good Tuscan wine. The flowers, as if they had just been picked, were the setting for that moment.

And then the lights, warm and soft which, together with the candles and nature itself, have created a unique and magical atmosphere.

The ring, an aqua green sapphire with diamonds, created and worked by hand, has been inserted into a chestnut hedgehog.
