Afternoon, beautiful people! And my goodness do we have your culture fix lined up for today! Inspired by the traditional wedding colours of Irish weddings, today’s styled elopement shoot is so unique, we’re just blown away with it’s Irish beauty! (And the hankering to actually visit Ireland is now all the more real!!)

This dreamy creation comes from Miami wedding planner, Soco Alicea. Obsessed with love, she’s a lover of fairytale endings, beautiful blooms and creating timeless weddings… All of which shine through in this gorgeous shoot.

We love the idea of looking to other cultures to inspire your wedding; all rich with their own traditions, ideas and beauty. You may be surprised as to the treasures you can find outside of the box, so to speak!

Let’s hear from Soco about this Irish beauty…

We decided to create a shoot based around Ireland and their wedding traditions. We couldn’t help but be inspired by the culture and colours.

Now, Irish brides traditionally wear blue as a sign of purity, and what better compliment to add to our palette of this years colour green? We chose a blue dress, inspired by Irish lace, in honour of this tradition which we think is so unique.

We created the shoot around those beautiful tones of blue and green, and took upon ourselves the task of incorporating many of the Irish wedding traditions, including the wedding bells to drive away bad spirits, hand fasting to tie the knot, a Claddagh Ring inspired wedding cake and braids in the brides hair as a symbol of luck.

Our main inspiration for florals came directly from nature, as traditionally in Ireland brides love to use wild and locally grown florals. So we took that approach and incorporated Geraniums and a mix of greens and whites in honour of the Shamrocks. We truly wanted to create a setting that was not only romantic but reminiscent of sweet romance.

There are so many different cultures and each with rich ideas to make part of your wedding day and it is truly inspiring to learn from them.
