What do you get when you have two gorgeous friends, a VW Beetle Glitter Bar and Photo Booth, some pretty fabulous clothes and accessories and styling vibes that echo that of the 70’s? Well this shoot of course!!!
Sent all the way from sunny Devon by the lovely people behind Vintage Camper Booths (I see you Naomi), and captured in the wonderfully nostalgic vintage editing style of wedding photographer Lene of Moments To Media, 70’s Bohemia comes with not one but two different shoot ideas rolled into the one! A double treat for your eyes today. Naomi explains…
It is no secret that we are huge lovers of the whole retro seventies era. It was when our VW Campervans and Beetles were born after all. We also adore bohemian styling and fashion and really wanted to combine the two on a styled shoot, to be full of inspiration for anyone planning both their hen party and wedding. Especially if they are lovers of this era and style too.
Naomi, Vintage Camper Booths
It features Betsy, Vintage Camper Booth’s orange VW Beetle who is a vehicle with many talents! Not only can she be hired as transport for your wedding day, she can also appear as a prop/backdrop to your ceremony, a quirky photo booth or as a glitter bar on wheels for perfect entertainment for your guests.
Along with Betsy, 70’s Bohemia also comes with a wedding supplier line up that you are most certainly going to want to investigate further! From the beautiful bohemian accessories (that hat and head chain though) to the cute lollipops and roller skates!
There is a lot to love about this shoot so sit back, relax and allow these 70’s vibes to wash over you!
Naomi shares with us more details on the shoot and the suppliers who helped make it happen.
Ps how much does the gorgeous model Olivia look like Kate Hudson from Almost Famous? Loving her style!
A 70’s Inspired Bohemia Hen Do…
It is no secret that we are huge lovers of the whole retro seventies era. It was when our VW Campervans and Beetles were born after all. We also adore Bohemian styling and fashion and really wanted to combine the two on a styled shoot. A shoot that is full of inspiration for anyone planning their Hen Party or Wedding. Especially if they are lovers of this era and style too.
We really wanted to showcase our gorgeous VW Clementine Orange Beetle in her best light, as she has so many unique and quirky services to offer. We therefore decided to create a ’70’s Bohemia Shoot’ in two parts.
The first part was all about cool hen party vibes. Hen parties need not be expensive but do need to be packed full of fun, new and fresh ideas. Such as hiring our VW Beetle for a Hen Party where we can provide the perfect combination of fun! From a retro styled picnic set up for afternoon tea or delicious grazing boards with champagne, to a glitter bar and make- up bar set up at the front of the Beetle. The hen could have her makeup/hair trials at the party and the hens could have some glitter make-up pampering too! The hen and her besties can then capture all their gorgeousness on camera inside the Beetle Photo Booth.
The second part was all about the Festival Bride and what she could have at her wedding to entertain the guests in style. Again we can bring the Photo Booth and Glitter Bar fun to any wedding, to really add endless amounts of laughter and sparkles with bespoke theming and additional decor to add that special touch. This package is such a great combination of entertainment for any wedding and something a little bit different.
Lene from Moments of Media has a real eye for detail and we really loved her colourful style, so we were over the moon when she said yes to collaborating with us on this shoot. We discussed editing the photos in a real retro bohemian finish and they look incredible!
Tina from Tasteful Table Decor does a lot of styling for us for our Devon weddings when we hire out our VW Campervans as ceremony area backdrops, romantic engagement and proposal settings and also for when brides and hens want more styling around the campervan and beetle photo booths. She has such a gorgeous collection of decor and always adds that special touch to any wedding or event.
We approached Olivia Harriet who is an absolute goddess with her unique bohemian style. She was the perfect model for this shoot and we were delighted to have her onboard! We also asked Abbie from Sparkling Soul who is an amazing glitter artist and joins us on many weddings and events when our glitter bar has been booked! The two of them had never met before but were besties by the end of the afternoon! We all had such fun and were blessed with glorious sunshine on the Devon cliff top.
We are huge lovers of Shikoba Bride Dresses and fell in love with their dress ‘Harper’ for this shoot with it’s true bohemian seventies vibes. It was just perfect.
Luna and Wild had the perfect boho seventies floppy hat and beautiful dried floral crowns and kindly donated them to us for the shoot.
We also borrowed some stunning jewellery from Janie at Lucky Sixpence. The head chain looked sensational on Olivia as did the earrings. Abbie also wore a lovely pair of their earrings. Bohemian gorgeousness for sure.
We absolutely had to feature a roller girl skating element to the shoot as not only was Olivia perfect for it but we have wanted to do a roller skating shoot for so long. Roller Girl Gang let us borrow a pair of their retro roller skates and along with Olivia’s own unique sense of style and clothing the look was complete. No roller girl skate shoot is complete without a lollipop, so thanks to Sugar Lollipops we captured some fab and really authentic retro shots with gorgeous lollipops. The girls said they tasted delicious too.
We absolutely LOVE Tanya from Daydreamer Studios work so much that we asked her to make us some bespoke banners for our own Photo Booth and Glitter Bars! They looked fabulous! The models wore a lot of their own clothing during the shoot and enjoyed trying on different outfits. It was such a fun shoot to do and we really hope you like it!
