Today they are sharing with us their top 10 tips for choosing your caterer for the big day and there is some great advice included. Make sure you check out what they did for Lizzie and John’s wedding at the end of the post as well. It explains perfectly the unique service they can offer for your wedding.

*Warning! You will be craving Italian food after this. My mouth is watering…. *

1. Food Heaven & Food Hell…

Tell your caterer your food heaven and food hell so they can do a bespoke menu. It is your special day after all!

2. Canapes…

Canapes set the tone of the night so go for something colourful and easy to grab such as…

  • Our Parmesan Fries and lime, a delicious combination that will warm your heart;
  • Sesame crostini with whipped cod and capers, from Venice with love
  • Pork belly skewers, spicy mayo and pistachio dukkah, crispy pork belly with a spicy touch.

3. Food for Sharing?

Yes, please! The best way of bringing people together!

We love the sharing option, a delicious pasta like small gnocchi with courgette flower, pecorino cream, mint and broad beans served in lovely sharing bowls is everything you need to bring your guests together!

4. Friendly staff is a must!

Get to know your caterer in person before you sign them in. We believe that the staff is really important for the success of an event.

Our team of professional and skilled staff have a lot of experience in the catering business so will look after you, always with a big smile on their face!

5. Drinks are very important…

Make sure your caterers know their wine well!

Italian wines like Ortrugo and Barbera from Cantine Bonelli in Emilia Romagna, a great pairing with our menus. But rest assured we have so many more to offer you! Silvio, our wine specialist, has always some little gems in his pockets.

6. Desserts banquet?

Absolutely! Go for a colourful, sweet and tasty one – it’s fun!

From Tiramisu to Panna cotta, Amalfi lemon tart and Chocolate mousse, you will be transported in sweet heaven. Give the choice to your guests and they will be pleased with the possibility of scoop more than one dessert!

7. Keep your guests dancing!

Evening snacks are ideal to keep your guests dancing.

After some dancing and cocktails, you might need to recharge your guests with some more delicious food, a late-night snack like a homemade focaccia Pugliese with tomatoes and olives is what you need to keep on the boogie!

8.  Al Fresco dinner?

Your caterers must know all about kitchen installation!

We don’t need much, but power and water are essential. Make sure that your venue has both to avoid unnecessary extra costs. We will then provide all the equipment we might need to prepare the best meal for you!

9. Dietary Requirements…

Make sure your veggie and vegan friends are well fed too! We always suggest a menu that covers all the diet requirements! 3 canapes? Make sure to have one meat one fish and one vegetarian. A nice vegetarian pasta will make everyone happy and if you want meat as a main, we will have some delicious options for your vegetarian friends!

10. Venue: Double-check there’s enough space…

Make sure that your caterer sees the venue, there is nothing more important than doing a recce with them.

When we walk through the venue with you we can see the day unfolding and there is no better way to understand what you imagine for your special day.

Lizzie and John’s Wedding…

For Lizzie and John’s wedding, we discussed the types of food, how to serve it, where to serve it, how people should be seated (as they wanted) and also included several stands where people could get involved with making their own food. There was a live ravioli making station where guests could make and eat fresh pasta. We made a banquet table laden with lots of different food, roasted a whole hog and created huge platters encouraged people to pass food between one another. Great Italian wine and negroni served all night long. What a memorable wedding.

Anyone else really craving some Italian food right now!?
