Win Half Price Wedding Photography!
I’ve been running my own little business for 5 years now and to mark this occasion I would love to offer one lucky Festival Brides reader 50% off one of my wedding photography packages! Read on and find out how to enter this awesome competition!
But first, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Kirsty, a crazy cat lady, and secret hippie at heart. I offer alternative relaxed wedding photography for fun & laid back couples. Quirky, nontraditional and unique weddings are always welcome and I absolutely LOVE festival weddings!
You could say my style of wedding photography is different to your standard style of wedding photography. In fact, you could probably describe it better as photos of awesome people having an amazing time. There’s no cheese, no stiff awkward portraits, just fun photos of you and your favourite people.
I’m very relaxed and chilled out so you don’t need to worry if you hate having your picture taken. I will put you at ease and you will forget I’m there after a while (I know it sounds impossible but it’s true – honest!) Around me you can relax and enjoy your big day.
If you had the chance to go to any music festival, which one would it be and why?
Gah! This is a seriously hard question! I’ve been to so many amazing festivals. My favourites are: Glasto, Bestival, Boomtown and Green Man. I don’t get to go to many now due to working weekends, so I think if I had to pick one it would always be Glastonbury. Not only is it such an amazing place with so many iconic cool spaces, but it Glastonbury holds a great sentimental meaning to me too.
My Mum and Dad took us to Glastonbury when we were babies! In fact my first time at Glasto was in my mummas womb! It’s so cool to look back through the old kodak photos of us all in the tents and by the pyramid stage. I definitely have my parents to thank for my love of music and festivals. Must be in the blood.
What made you decide to go into wedding photography?
My love of photographing people and their memories. I’ve always loved photographing and painting people.
How would you best describe your photography style?
Relaxed, quirky, unconventional and a load of fucking fun!
What do you love the most about capturing weddings?
For me, it’s always the people. Capturing those natural moments and memories that you may not even realise are happening on the day. I love to give people photos of real love and laughter.
In four words, please describe your ideal couple?
Non-traditional, laid back, creative and free-spirited.
Posed Family Photos, Yes or No?
Hell yes! I’m all about getting a few snaps of your family history. Nobody wants to spend hours on line-ups though so I only do a few and then let you get on with having maximum fun and fizz drinking time.
Love from lovely people…
“We can’t thank you enough! I have no words, they’re just magical and so were you! Thank you for blending in and capturing our amazing day <3. Everyone has been singing your praises about how you fit in so well and no one noticed you were there, you even won over my niece!!” Abi & Greg
“We cannot shout about Kirsty enough. She was just the best ever. We knew pretty much from the off we wanted her after seeing her portfolio and Instagram etc and then when we met her for the first time, it just solidified everything. She is so friendly yet professional and after our engagement shoot, it felt like we were literally best mates as she photographed us all over Bethnal Green, dipping into a few pubs along the way! On the day, she was super chilled but just so professional and always on point. She has a way of capturing all these moments but you’re just like “WHEN and WHERE did she do that?!” We originally fell in love with her candid photos, the night time ones and the ones where she used the coloured flares. We were lucky enough to have them in ours and they came out so good. All in all, Kirsty effortlessly captured so many perfect parts and moods of the day and we would highly recommend her to any couples!” Corinne & Adam
“Kirsty is amazingly talented and SO much fun to hang out with, which is an important factor when choosing a photographer as they’re going to spend the whole day with you and your guests at your wedding. It was like having an extra two friends (including her second photographer Marni) there all day!
We’re blown away by how wonderful the photos are – we didn’t want them to be too posey or anything that wasn’t us and that’s exactly what we got. They really captured the joy of the day, from the photos of just the two of us to the shots of our guests owning the dancefloor. Each one is fun and beautiful – thanks Kirsty! xx” Jules & Tom.
What do couples need to consider when they’re choosing a wedding photographer?
Choosing a photographer is a big decision! It’s super important that you find a photographer whose style you love and who gets you and what you’re about. You definitely want to make sure you plan some time in to chat with your potential photographer to make sure you get along, and it’s always worth asking to see a full gallery so you can get a feel for how they capture the whole story too.
