Set within 90 acres of ancient woodland and conveniently located within an hour’s commute of London, Shrubs Wood offers you the rare and unique opportunity to create your very own wedding in the middle of a completely private woodland. Onsite you will find a ceremony area for personal blessings, a large reception clearing complete with a Stratus Tipi for 72 people (with space for more structures if you need it), a hand carved wooden table for 24 guests and a fire pit. Glamping is available for 5 tents and the venue also has their very own wood fired sauna, hot tub and a compost toilet. All you need to do is turn up with your chosen suppliers and guests and bring the party!

Shrubs Wood is a Grade Two Star Listed country estate previously owned by Bridget Dame D’Oyly Carte, the sole heir to the Savoy dynasty. The estate was used to throw lavish and raucous parties with high society in the swinging 60’s but today has been transformed by its owners into a beautiful wedding and event venue. It also plays host to a series of secret dining experiences with private Michelin star chefs, each of whom imbue their own culinary background foraging from the abundant local ingredients found on the land.

The Woodland Ceremony Area

Within an 8 minute walk from the parking area, down a gorgeous natural woodland path, you will find the woodland ceremony area. This small and enchanting leafy clearing, with space for 120 guests, is the perfect place to hold a personal blessing or humanist ceremony. When in season, Bluebells bloom between a diverse range of grand old ancient trees offering a truly awe-inspiring ceremony backdrop. The best part about this space is it is a blank canvas giving you the complete freedom to make it your own.
