This year, Festival Brides is very excited and very proud to be sponsoring the show. We have loved Most Curious from the moment we visited their very first show in 2011. It stands for everything we believe in when it comes to planning a wedding and also goes out of its way to support and promote new exciting businesses that aren’t afraid to be different. We can’t wait to be more involved in this years show and are already creating exciting plans for 2018 (we like to plan ahead!)

Becky Hoh-Hale, founder of Most Curious, has put together a style guide for the show to share exclusively on Festival Brides today complete with a first look at mood boards for this years styling theme. Think pink, neon and blush with a style savvy edge. We can’t wait to see these mood boards come to life!

Pinktopia and Electric Dreams….

Words by Becky Hoh-Hale

The way Most Curious see’s it, a wedding is something of a production and the styling of your day can be subtle or statement but always deserves a slick sort of plan that runs through it, and we take great joy in the visual aspect of the show we put on, almost as if it is a wedding in itself.

Have a little look-see at some of the show styling, show stopping elements from previous years.

Of course our exhibitors do INCREDIBLE things with their stands so inspiration will greet you at every step, it’s actually quite mind blowing, these guys really do take over the place with their creativity. But from a bigger picture point of view, WE have a show styling theme too and are collaborating with some amazing names this year.

The Truman Brewery is a huge industrial white walled box, and we relish the opportunity to take over the venue with plenty of decor ideas for you to feast your peepers on. This year the theme is, wait for it….PINKTOPIA AND ELECTRIC DREAMS. We try to look past the world of weddings and absorb what we love from the current vibe in fashion, design, interiors, editorial photography from the past and present.

So the show will be awash with blush, peach ice cream-y pinks, with pops of neon. Don’t worry we haven’t gone all princess ‘my special day’ girly on you, think more sleazy pink, inspired by a heady, crazy kind of love sickness ala Audrey in Twin Peaks, Heathers and True Romance. 80s and 90s vibes and well as pretty appliqué blooms on top of block colour, velvets and shocks of iridescent and palms too. Feelin’ it?

The main styled areas will be the catwalk, our selfie wall, and the entrance space but look out for our ideas to carry on a theme over a whole venue throughout the show. To make this dreamy look happen, we’re working amazing new dream team on the block Geo Fleur x Clare Nicolson! Fleurs is basically our long time plant crush, so hit them up if you want to incorporate greenery into your big day. Clare Nicolson is an incredible graphic designer and stylist with a penchant for colour pop and has been creating some amazing plans.

Because we’re going Paris Hilton meets Audrey Horne pink, we know that flowers are going to be integral to this too, giving us a great chance to use a colour associated with weddings but obvs we will put our own stamp on it with a complete over kill and big blousey blooms! And we knew we had to work with Frog Flowers on this task, they create jaw dropping floral installation in their sleep and love to get creative and structural, so think big guys!

We predict balloons are making a come back, and decor extraordinaires Pop Pop Papier are going to assist on this to make sure we keep it dreamy and chic. Pom Pom Blossom who specialise in hand dyed fabrics for weddings are also on hand for plush drapery boudoir needs and Molu Sign writing will make sure sugary sweet messages greet you as you make your way around. And of course we’ll be putting the buzz into the electric dreams with some neon magic.
