Happy Friday, beauts! Now, let me tell you, if you’re looking for that blissful, middle-of-nowhere, love-bubble kind of wedding venue, then you’re gonna love today’s post. Meet Fforest, and their stunning Farm venue near the charming town of Cardigan, Wales. Nestled between the Cilgerran gorge and the river Teifi, the space at Fforest brings you back; back to nature, back to simple pleasures and the beauty of the outdoors. And, while it’s a gloriously blank canvas, it also has so much to offer: a tiny private stone pub, a large communal firepit and a secret woodland sauna… To mention but a few highlights! Bliss really is the word!

Let’s chat with Fforest themselves to uncover all the beauty and magnificence of this magical corner of the Welsh countryside…

Blissful Farmland, Firepits + a Giant Hat Tipi

Fforest Farm is a place to enjoy the simplicity, pleasures and beauty of outdoor living in an outstanding natural environment. With its private tiny stone pub, large communal firepit and secret woodland sauna, and a choice of ceremony and event spaces including a giant hat tipi, garden pavilion and dining and party barns, fforest Farm can be yours for the whole weekend.

The 200 acres of fforest farm are part of an area of unspoilt natural beauty, wrapped in woods, wildlife and wonder. The farm is flanked on one side by the Teifi Marshes nature reserve and on the other, Cilgerran gorge, through which the magnificent river Teifi flows down to the market town of Cardigan and the Irish sea beyond. Outdoor spaces include woodland glades, meadows and an atmospheric ancient quarry where a humanist ceremony can be held.

From sunshine, beaches and tipis to comfort, candles and barns, fforest offers flexible comfortable spaces that can accommodate parties of any size in any season. Fforest has been hosting weddings on its 200 acre farm for over 10 years. During this time the spaces have evolved and the menus and cocktails have been perfected but the constants have been delicious seasonal food, fantastic service and a giant hat tipi with a perfect view of stunning countryside. Reassuringly, although a festival wedding should be all about the outdoors, at fforest you are never far from shelter should the sun decide not to shine.

A Wedding Weekend

Fforest only hosts residential weddings, with guests staying on-site for a minimum of 2 nights in a range of accommodation from bell tents and geodesic domes through to farmhouse suites and split level crog lofts. Your guests are met with tea on arrival before being shown to their accommodation. The weekend is kicked off with a welcome party with wood-fired pizza at the little on-site pub and ends with a slap-up morning after barbecue Welsh brunch.

Because fforest offers serviced accommodation year round, rooms are comfortably furnished with coldatnight Welsh textiles, all tents are on permanently sited wooden decks with outdoor covered seating areas and everyone has their own kitchen to brew their morning cuppa. All guests have access to the little cedar barrel sauna in the woods and for wedding day preparations there is a beauty barn with mirrors, dressing tables, power sockets and an iron and ironing board, next to one of the spacious cedar shower blocks.

Great pride has been taken in the attention to detail in all elements of the design at fforest, creating a complete solution for your wedding requirements. Fforest is “wedding ready”, allowing you to add as much or as little of your own decor as you choose to the fresh flowers, candles and festoon lighting that already adorn the venue.

Fforest is located close to the West Wales coast, in Cardigan Bay on the Pembrokeshire / Ceredigion border. It is best approached along the M4 from the south or through Aberystwyth and the A487 from the north. The nearest train stations are Clunderwen / Carmarthen for London trains from Paddington and Aberystwyth from the north. Fforest is located just 20 miles from Fishguard so easily accessible from Ireland via Rosslare.

Fforest is walking distance to the village of Cilgerran and a 10 minute drive away is the town of Cardigan. Cardigan Bay offers a range of beaches from quiet coves to great sandy expanses and the cave and cliff-lined coast is perfect for sea kayaking, coasteering and dolphin watching.
