It’s hard not to fall in love with The Manor Gardens, a truly romantic spot, hidden within 14 enchanting acres of the wider Birling Estate, a perfect woodland wedding venue.

Owned by the Nevill family since 1435, and nestled within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Manor Gardens is a secluded garden area which has only recently become available to hire for a small number of wedding blessings, hand fasting ceremonies and wedding receptions each year.

Whether that’s a fun-filled festival-themed day, an enchanting and magical woodland affair, or a delightful vintage country garden celebration…there are so many options for you to explore in our beautiful outdoor wedding venue.

A Blank Canvas....

With plenty of space and privacy, The Manor Gardens is the perfect blank canvas for the ultimate country garden or woodland wedding experience. With five days exclusive access to the ground for your event to allow for set up, you will have plenty of time to enjoy The Manor Gardens all to yourselves….you might prefer a free reign to use which ever suppliers you choose, or, to make the planning that little bit easier for you, we can offer several packages with some of our favourite suppliers….the choice is yours.

Party Under The Stars....

The Manor Gardens is an idyllic setting to celebrate your marriage in the open air, surrounded by nature, and with ample space for you to hire in a tepee, marquee or stretch tent, so you can then continue the celebrations and party under the stars.  We have a dedicated glamping area available within the grounds for up to 20 bell tents or there is also our own off-grid campsite, Badgells Wood Camping, which is just one mile away but still within the wider Birling Estate.

Marry In The Open Air....

We do not at this time have a license to hold civil ceremonies, however we are in close proximity to licensed venues that could assist with this, should you be looking for a formal setting for a civil ceremony before moving on to The Manor Gardens for the reception. There is also Birling Church, just a stone’s throw from the Estate and of course if you are looking for a wedding blessing or hand-fasting ceremony, we have a number of idyllic areas within The Manor Gardens that you can choose from, ensuring that you marry in the open air surrounded by nature. You are free to choose wherever you would like to hold your ceremony, or we do have a suggested formal garden or woodland ceremony areas.

Although blissfully peaceful, remote and private, we’re close to Maidstone, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks, with good links to the M20, M25 and M2. West Malling station is 3 miles away and Ebbsfleet International Station is just half an hour away, making London within easy reach.

It is always hard to capture the magic of a place in words – a visit to our woodland garden is highly recommended.
