Hola or should I say mwah ha ha haaaaaaa! I hope you are all having a great Halloween so far. I am fresh off the plane today after an amazing week away with my family in Spain so I am not prepared for Halloween at all. There is not a trick or a treat in sight and so I need to get my backside into gear and go shopping!
We are breaking with tradition today and instead of sharing with you a Halloween inspired shoot, we are sharing something a bit different but still with a whimsical and magical theme.
Captured in the heart of a stunning woodland in Malaga, today’s shoot is inspired by aspects of Alice In Wonderland and features the work of some incredible Spanish suppliers such as wedding photographer Alberto Casacruz, event planners and florists El día de la novia, stationery supplier La Marimorena Creativos and wedding dress designer Laura Vila to name but a few. It is a shoot that is playful, beautiful, inspiring and full of those gorgeous bohemian wedding vibes that we have come accustomed to on Festival Brides. Vibes that are enhanced by the stunning two piece by Laura Vila and the intricate beauty of the headpiece by Tocados Logana which we love love LOVE. Everything within this shoot, from the decor to the styling of the couple, works so well together and that is down to Irene and Jhonathan of El día de la novia who came up with the concept and that amazing colour palette of blues and gold that brings each element together perfectly. We love how they have taken aspects of the well known story of Alice in Wonderland and infused them into this shoot. Often themes like these can be over down but Irene and Jhonathan have kept it subtle and the result is a beautiful shoot full of fabulous wedding inspiration.
Enjoy this one peeps and get ready to get your pinterest on!
A Wonderland Wedding…..
This shoot has been designed, organised and directed by Irene and Jhonathan, wedding planners in El día de la novia. Their wedding planner company is located in Malaga, also called “Costa del Sol”, one of the most magical places in Spain to celebrate a wedding. An ideal climate, dreamy beaches and everything under a beautiful sun
makes this place a very special place to celebrate a wedding. For this shooting they have gathered the best Malaga wedding providers, creating a team that has been able to recreate such an amazing work like this one.
The shoot is inspired by the classic tale of Alice in Wonderland, but in spite of that, it has not been a recreation and copy of it. They have achieved a different and original vision, their “Wonderland wedding”. There are elements that could not be missing such as the blue colour in the look of the bride, the hat (but in this case it is worn by the bride and not the groom) and of course the pocket watch and the white rabbit.
With this shooting they wanted to show a bride who despite being the protagonist of a fairy tale, is a bride with character and personality, out of the ordinary and without fear of showing herself as she is, and having the wedding that she really wants. A fun wedding, original and not for that less romantic.
The story begins with their awakening in an impressive cabin in the forest. The couple enjoy a picnic breakfast and then they dress and prepare for the big moment. An altar worthy of a fairytale, made of forge and with a simple and careful decoration. Flowers and small keys as an undoubted symbol of the story in which it is
inspired. After the “Yes I do” we go to the banquet table. Located in an impressive grove, the table has a beautiful floral decoration. Details such as books, various old keys and gears, a deck of pocker cards, and an impressive crockery, cutlery and glassware, make this moment something unique.
Finally we can not fail to mention, the wonderful table of sweets, with a decoration out of the ordinary. The colors, and the details like the white rabbit, the vase teapot, the sweets inspired by wonderland, the miniature tableware or the small pots with blue brew make clear the attention to detail with which this table is worked.
