I love Autumn. It’s one of my favourite times of year and such a beautiful season to choose to get married. Summer is always the popular choice for obvious reasons but actually, an outdoor wedding can work beautifully in Autumn. All those wonderful shades of brown and orange bring so much warmth to an outdoor venue as well as your wedding decor. The flowers in season at this time of year also look great with mixed berries and dried leaves.
Today’s autumnal shoot, captured by Mary Anne Weddings and featuring a fantastic line up of suppliers, illustrates perfectly how stunning an Autumn wedding can be. From that wonderful flower ceremony arch by Jennifer Pinder to the mustard wedding dress by Son De Flor (which compliments the free spirited vibe of the bride beautifully) – there is so much to love about this shoot. It has a wonderful laid back vibe which I am finding totally endearing and I am loving the romance between the couple. It makes me want to don a woolly jumper and head out into the woods with my husband and enjoy everything that is fabulous and romantic about this time of year!
If you are planning an Autumnal wedding, and even if you’re not, this shoot is going to bring you some wonderful inspiration so pour yourself a cup of something warm and get ready to be lost in this gorgeous shoot….
Simple, Rustic and Natural….
Words by Mary-Anne Weddings
Autumn was a huge inspiration for this shoot, it’s personally my favourite time of year because of the vibrant leaves – and the super talented Jennifer Pinder held a flower workshop, where the attendees created bouquets, urns and large installations from the most beautiful colourful autumn blooms – that were used for this styled shoot.
The bride wears an alternative yellow bridal dress by Son De Flor, who hand makes charming dresses that have me dreaming of old tales.
I adore Elmo Paper Stories, with plenty of gorgeous calligraphy and quality craftsmanship, Jenn chose them because you can really feel the quality in the materials they use – their stationary is just breathtakingly beautiful, rustic and romantic.
The shoot wasn’t overcrowded with suppliers. They were hand picked for their simplistic beauty. We wanted to keep this shoot, simple, rustic and natural. By stripping back a little on the details and letting love and the warmth of the autumn colours be the focus.
